Over at Western Rifle Shooters Assoc. there is a post entitled "Carol Bundy Sends"

https://westernrifleshooters.wordpress.com/2016/01/09/carol-bundy-sends/

the post has a long list of stuff the folks in OR need/want. Comments on the article are interesting.
All that aside, it is a good prompt for what might go in a unit (or event) basic load, sustainment load and stuff for morale and welfare.

Agreement with what is going on aside, the event looks like a good provider of lessons learned ref supply/logistics.

If you are planning an event, need to think thru logistics and not wait until your in the middle to start worrying about resupply etc.

I love the way the arm chair commandos over at WRSA love to pile on and criticize every move these people make.

Anyone who doesn't have any skin in the game, or who isn't willing to actually do something constructive to help, should stay out of it.

To me it's simple. Lead, follow or STFU.

Here's an example of some guys who are stepping up to the plate. My hats off to them.

Quote
From ToneDeaf:

While I sit here at home, safe and warm from the bitter cold weather after the resupply run I undertook yesterday, I am grateful that there are true Patriots that are standing watch in sub freezing conditions making a stand against the overreach of a tyrannous Federal Government.

I am referring not to those in the leadership but to the nameless Patriots that have left their homes, employment and families to take part in this momentous act of civil disobedience. Those that seek not recognition or adoration, but have followed their moral compass and answered the call of duty.

There were no Summertime Patriots among the lot. These are all men and women of high principles and meaningful deeds.

They have left the safety and anonymity of the keyboard to do something they believe in. How many in the Patriot community can make that claim?

The only observation I would like to encourage immediate discussion is overall networking of the Patriot community. How does one get communications to a point of contact inside the wire? So and so knows this guy through facebook that is part of a gamers group whose 3rd cousin twice removed, former roommate that plays cards with the Brother of said person inside the wire. Does it really need to be so difficult? I understand the need for OPSEC and compartmentilization but the time may come when messages need to be relayed without multi layers. I have no idea what this would look like but at a minimum every Patriot group should have a dedicated point of contact that can direct communications to internal members when needed.

The negativity surrounding the OP based strictly on biases from previous actions needs to stop. All Patriots need to evaluate the big picture and leave the prejudices of certain individuals in the trash folders. There will always be those that will find fault in everything and everyone.

All Patriots owe a debt of gratitude to those at the refuge that are not in front of the cameras, yet face the same consequences as those that are in front of the cameras.

Special thanks to the following:

Chris and Gary Hunt who were in constant contact throughout the mission ensuring my safe arrival.

John Ritzheimer as point of contact inside the wire.

Ryan Payne for taking the time and talking to me about the OP.

The head of Security, I believe was Will, that escorted us to the kitchen.

The half dozen Patriots that unloaded the food from the truck.

Pete Santilli and Deborah Wagner for constant streaming of this OP. Hella nice also.

But a special thank you to all of the Patriots there who do not seek recognition or adoration yet brave the weather and risk of taking a stand.

ToneDeaf

PS: A special thanks to the III%er from Colorado that had gate duty while we were there. Sorry I can't remember your name, but I will never forget your commitment to Liberty.
Tone deaf and the other patriots drove 12 hours to get there and delivered.

AAR Bullet Points from our III Patriots:

130 miles traveled on Thursday and 475 on Friday (12 hours of driving)
Cleaned out two stores of all cold weather gear
3 large carts filled up with groceries. Enough to squat the back of my truck. Approx 600lbs.
Everyone inside the wire were super appreciative of the gesture. I've never had so many grateful people come out to shake my hand and thank us
Payne and Ritzheimer were both very accommodating and gracious. I believe Cooper was on over-watch and the Bundy' were encircled with news cameras so I didn't get to meet them
This act of civil disobedience has been extremely effective at getting the story out about the feds overreach leading to discussion on such a massive scale not seen in years. International news sources are carrying the story in many countries including Russia and North Korea

This was a Humanitarian run to help Liberty Forces remain warm and fed. It was a brilliant success, and appreciated by those on the ground who have taken action to defend Liberty.

More re-supply operations are imminent by the III Percent Society and the III Patriots who call themselves Members - because we believe in actions and deeds, not words.

Yeah, preach it brother. Look how they have royally fucked up the Stratiotes situation.

Bullshitting us on everything even after I went and did risky in-person recon of the places and visited Strat and found out there never was any attorney retained by the Reagan Wing and TEA party people, and Snook had not even visited Strat.

Meanwhile, I got told how its all handled and stay the fuck out...

I could imagine if that crew from Idaho rolled up on Okanogan things would be better. It's not like they could be much worse.

The closest you are going to get is in Bend, Or. for any substantial quantity of food. It’s 131 miles away. Boise is 188 miles. I have no knowledge of sources for bulk food in Boise so I will not address that.

My supply run consisted of hitting the BiMart(351 NE 2nd, Bend Or.) and Walmart(20120 Pinebrook Blvd.) for beanies, jackets, bibs and gloves. This has been an especially harsh winter here in Central Oregon so inexpensive cold weather gear is in short supply. Higher end, gear made for winter hunting can be sourced through the Sportsman Warehouse located at 63492 Hunnell Rd. Bend, Or.
2 blocks away was the Cash and Carry(1500 NE 3rd. St. Bend, Or.), a restaurant supply wholesale store. 50 lb bags of beans and rice, cases of #10 cans of all kinds. This should be THE food supply store used for the bulk calorie stuff. They also have commercial sized cleaning/sanitary/hygiene products.

I would not rely on Safeway in Burns for anything but perishables that cannot be sourced in bulk from Bend
.
There is a Costco(2500 NE Hwy 20, Bend, Or.) a mile from the cash and carry for large packs of batteries and bulk OTC meds(tylenol, advil,etc….).

By my best guesstimate, they will need a pickup truck full of supplies a week at minimum. That is based on the number of people I met and saw inside on Friday during the initial bulk resupply run. I hope this helps everyone not here in Oregon to understand the locations of the nearest sources to resupply those inside. It’s a 2 1/2 hour drive at minimum in good weather. I recommend not wasting your time trying to source supplies in Burns.

When this thing started, Ammon Bundy was saying they had the resources to stay there for months, or even a year. I guess not.

They had resources for the original small number of people. Since then their numbers have swelled and some have shown up with nothing but their basic kit.

Just a fact of life as numbers grow so must supplies.

Makes me wonder about the folks who showed up....

And the old adage still applies: Amateurs study tactics. Generals study logistics.

Flight ER DOC,

I once knew a group that was squared away tactically. They had weapons, gear and ammo caches that most of us can only dream of.

When I asked about medical and food supplies. I heard we've got IFAK's and a few MREs. They really saw no need for much more, saying they could live off the land.

We both know how that will work out.

I know after several weapon, gear and supply hijacks on group(s) out of Washington state, the hijackers never took seriously the logistics of moving large volume food stores, so all of the food and water storage supplies and infrastructure remained after every episode of theft and looting.

They probably don't take food at the local pawn shop.

Well, just as I've said medically, perhaps folks should think about what happens after the first skirmish...

I just read a report (most of which is pure propaganda) from a leftist reporter who was escorted through the camp. But it does have some intell of value.

Per her report there are about 25 people inside the "compound". They "shuttle in envoys for food and supplies". It seems the locals, whom the media claims doesn't want them there don't seem to have a problem selling supplies to the protesters.

Many people have come to Burns hauling in supplies including 2 fishermen from Washington who brought 300 oysters.

Quote
The buildings inside the refuge were designed to offer all the comforts of home to the weekday park rangers, with a sizable headquarters containing a large kitchen, living room, bathrooms with showers, and a hallway of bedrooms. When I entered this main building, the “chow house,” it was evident that those Facebook entreaties for food had worked. The militia had enough snacks to wait out just about any standoff,
Quote
A woman named Melissa Cooper, one of only two women then staying at the refuge (despite the cranberry farmer’s claim) stood in the designated storeroom, which usually serves as a gym, organizing boxes of supplies, many donated by visitors. There was everything from tuna fish to peanut butter, muffins to Doritos, wool socks to foot warmers, plus freezers filled with meat. For dinner that night, Melissa said, she served two hams, 30 pounds of potatoes, green beans, and apple pie. “God is on our side,” Melissa said, as she showed off the two washers, two dryers, four refrigerators, two ovens, two dishwashers, and television in the camp. One of the houses where people are bunking had HBO, she told me.
Even some of the locals have been dropping off supplies including ranchers who've brought meat.

My sources indicate they went in with sufficient supplies for a seige, but in the early days of this thing the needed the call out for additional people and assistance in order to create a traffic flow in and out of the place. operational cover if you will, pertaining to some other aspects of the operation.

And those folks just showed up.

Not well prepared. Not helpful.

And as far as the claim that people dont' bother to recharge radio batteries, that shows a total lack of individual discipline.

Again, not helpful. So, why did they show up?

Flight-ER-Doc, I see we read the same stuff. smile

They've run into the same problem Breacher had.

It seems the majority of people have no clue about the proper use of radio comms.

They're using easily monitored equipment in the clear, not maintaining that equipment, nor returning it to the command post so that someone else may do so.

Folks if your going on any kind of operation...don't be a dufuss. Bring your own radios and PLENTY of spare batteries.

The fbi on the other hand brought a mobile command center that gives them the ability to communicate with their people on multiple levels and also the capability to monitor ALL of the protesters comms including radios and cell phones.

If you are going to do an op, plan on countermeasures for this. If you don't know how to play ball don't come to the game.

Good AAR points- you get better by making observations, taking notes and applying it to your tribe.

These guys have a history of success using their women as human shields,

OR

They have a history of failure in controlling their women,

Maybe both.

Ritzheimer and Blaine Cooper left their families at home. Far as we know, the feds went and picked up Blaine Cooper's kids as a negotiating point. The kids were then released to some in-laws after a bit of drama and questioning.

I know personally, I keep my family clear of these things, and someone fucks with them, I rewrite the rules. Someone using their own family as human shields, that has to be dealt with on a case by case basis. I had to walk away from a couple of ripoffs on that, but time will tell when the matter is eventually settled out.

It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It also doesn't help our cause having women in harms way. They are breaking all the man rules in my opinion.

I cannot and will not be able to focus properly on the fight if I am thinking of my women and their safety. This is how they kill you easier. I believe it to be a loose loose situation. There are other ways to be successful and not putting a split tail in this kind of spot. My .02 anyway.

If I were their OPFOR I would use them to my advantage...

Per a leftist reporter there are only two women at the refuge. Both of them wives of a couple of the guys.

It may be a situation like I saw years ago when I met the C/O of a Texas militia. Both he and his wife were veterans. Where he went, she followed. If he was in the mud so was she. She always claimed they had each others back...said "if my ol man goes down; I'm going to get the bastard that took him out".

Gotta admire that attitude.
