Chaos breaks out in Portland - with mayor's blessing.

Quote
Along the trolley tracks behind the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office, a biohazard cleanup crew works under police protection. It finds used needles and buckets of human waste simmering in nearly 100-degree heat. The smell of urine and feces fills the block. For more than five weeks, as many as 200 people had occupied the site to demand ICE’s immediate abolition. They’re gone now, but a community is left reeling. Thirty-eight days of government-sanctioned anarchy will do that.

A mob surrounded ICE’s office in Southwest Portland June 19. They barricaded the exits and blocked the driveway. They sent “guards” to patrol the doors, trapping workers inside. At night they laid on the street, stopping traffic at a critical junction near a hospital. Police stayed away. “At this time I am denying your request for additional resources,” the Portland Police Bureau’s deputy chief, Robert Day, wrote to federal officers pleading for help. Hours later, the remaining ICE workers were finally evacuated by a small federal police team. The facility shut down for more than a week.

Signs called ICE employees “Nazis” and “white supremacists.” Others accused them of running a “concentration camp,” and demanded open borders and prosecution of ICE agents. Along a wall, vandals wrote the names of ICE staff, encouraging others to publish their private information online.

Federal workers were defenseless. An ICE officer, who asked that his name not be published, told me one of his colleagues was trailed in a car and confronted when he went to pick up his daughter from summer camp. Later people showed up at his house. Another had his name and photo plastered on flyers outside his home accusing him of being part of the “Gestapo.”

Where were the police? Ordered away by Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler, who doubles as police commissioner. “I do not want the @PortlandPolice to be engaged or sucked into a conflict, particularly from a federal agency that I believe is on the wrong track,” he tweeted. “If [ICE is] looking for a bailout from this mayor, they are looking in the wrong place.”

The mob set up camp behind the building, where they harassed journalists and banned photography. The open-borders advocates also erected an 8-foot wall around their site. I walked through and saw young children, including infants, in squalid conditions and 90-degree heat. Every American flag was defaced. Anarchist and communist flags were unsoiled.

Stuart Lindquist, the ICE facility’s 79-year-old landlord, visited his property on June 21. “The political powers in the city of Portland have stopped the police from doing what they normally would do,” he told me. When he attempted to drive into the parking lot, occupiers swarmed and pounded his windows. In the commotion, Mr. Lindquist’s car struck someone in the mob, who wasn’t injured. His home address later appeared online, and he says the harassment hasn’t stopped.

On June 28 federal police mobilized from out of state finally moved to reopen the office. They arrested a handful of people for refusing to leave the ICE office’s front, but the rest retreated to the camp and focused their vitriol on the officers. They repeatedly called a black officer “traitor” and “house n—.” They shouted that they knew where the officers lived, and published more addresses online.

The same day Mayor Wheeler again pledged not to intervene. In a statement, he whitewashed the lawless behavior: “I join those outraged by ICE actions separating parents from their children, and support peaceful protest to give voice to our collective moral conscience.”

The Hakes family, which owns the Happy Camper food cart across the street from ICE’s office, responded to the statement with incredulity. The mob “terrorized our family” and forced the business to close, Julie Hakes told me. Ms. Hakes showed me text messages from her 21-year-old daughter, Brianna, who ran the cart. “Just saw a drug deal,” Brianna reported early on. After members of the anti-ICE mob spotted her selling breakfast burritos to federal officers, the situation deteriorated. “Call me immediately!” Brianna wrote after being accused of “supporting the pigs” and “child deportation.” She said people wearing masks threatened to hurt her and burn down the cart, and the police never responded to their frantic calls.

Randy Glary, a 52-year-old artist and longtime resident, was photographing the camp when he said a group of occupiers knocked his camera into his face. Charles Williams, a 62-year-old man who lives across the street, said someone threatened to stab him with an “AIDS-infected needle.” From his balcony, he saw the “thugs” begin masked street patrols. Others brandished sticks. Lisa Leonard, a 53-year-old disabled resident, said occupiers hit her on her head, disabled her electric wheelchair, and lifted her in the air when she complained about loud drumming. She called police, who took a statement but made no arrests.

The locals who spoke to me all wondered why the city allowed this and ignored their calls for intervention. Peter Simpson, a public-information officer with the Portland Police Bureau, explained that “at the mayor’s direction, PPB involvement was very limited” until July 25.

Back at the trolley tracks, the occupiers have been evicted but taxpayers will have to foot the costly cleanup bill. The Hakes family is still trying to recover. Brianna has decided to move out of the neighborhood. “They know my face and car,” she said. Like other residents I spoke to, she expects the mob to return.

Welcome to the future of amerika. Just wait until Trump leaves office and the democratic socialists seize power.

If El Duce were alive today he would instantly recognize these black shirts for what the are.

Antifa is the exact thing they claim to be against. Socialists and common street thugs just like Hitlers NAZI SA.

Portland isn't just weird anymore. It's a violent hellhole.

Quote
Poor Portland, Oregon. The city that wants to “keep weird,” just can’t catch a break — they’ve had protests and violence for the past twenty months. And on Saturday it happened again.

The teams were from the right and left of the political spectrum, and here’s how they matched up:

On the right were the groups “Patriot Prayer” and the “Proud Boys.” Apparently the founder of Patriot Prayer, Joey Gibson, is running for Senate from neighboring Washington State, which is a quite a tall order since WA is just as deep blue as Oregon. But, they did get the proper permits to rally on Portland’s Waterfront Park. Joining Patriot Prayer were the Proud Boys, who call themselves “Western Chauvinists.” Now maybe these groups were legitimately trying to promote a candidate. Or maybe they were trolling the Left. Who knows?

But extremists on the left just couldn’t leave things alone. So the group “PopMob,” short for “Popular Mobilization,” showed up to counter-troll Patriot Prayer. Now you can pretty much guess that any group with the word “mob” in its name is out for trouble. And they had their support groups, too — immigrant rights groups and labor unions, also looking for trouble.

At first both sides complied by marching on their designated sides of the street, with the police in the middle of the street, separating them....

Next Sunday, August 12, a group called Unite the Right has a permit for a demonstration in Lafayette Park in Washington DC. There will be counter demonstrators, and this could get interesting.

Well now that they are posing with guns and I know they have them, we should feel justified shooting them when they threaten us. I was in fear for my life and my family members lives your Honor!

It looks like David Duke is one of the planned speakers at the Unite the Right rally in Washington on Sunday. Don't tell anyone, but I'm secretly hoping all these idiots just kill each other off so we can be done with them.

I went to the Unite the Right web site and it did not give a list of speakers. I would be dismayed if David Duke was one of those speakers. There is a difference between Constitutional loving citizens and white/black supremacist . Combining the two alienates a large part of the Patriot movement. It also fuels the media stereotype of the right. In these times the enemy of my enemy is my friend does not apply. Racists on both sides need to be marginalized so that we can get the true message of Freedom out to as many Americans as possible. As for the Confederate Battle Flag, once again is is being misappropriated by the wrong people which soils the memory of Southerners who gave their life for their cause. No that cause was not slavery despite what your 3rd grade "teacher" told you.

Well, this is it.

If you research the background of several of the leaders of the new alt right movement you'll find they come from the socialist left. These leftists are infiltrating the right in a planned move to discredit it.

I don't consider "Unite the Right" or any of the groups in it to be "right" at all. National socialists are exactly what they say they are, socialists.

So far this thing in D.C. has been pretty peaceful. But that can change pretty quickly.

Trump watching 'very closely' as Portland braces for dueling protests

By John Bowden - 08/17/19

President Trump said Saturday that he was watching "very closely" as Portland, Ore., braces for dueling far-right and antifa protests planned for this weekend.

In a tweet, the president wrote that he was still considering declaring antifa, an anti-fascism group, a terrorist organization.

"Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an “ORGANIZATION OF TERROR.” Portland is being watched very closely. Hopefully the Mayor will be able to properly do his job!" Trump tweeted.

Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an “ORGANIZATION OF TERROR.” Portland is being watched very closely. Hopefully the Mayor will be able to properly do his job!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 17, 2019

Trump's tweet came as Portland leaders plan a major law enforcement presence ahead of dueling demonstrations expected to take place Saturday. City officials said all of Portland's 1,000 officers are set to work on Saturday.

Trump had previously threatened to designate antifa groups a terrorist organization late last month after a conservative journalist for Quillette said he was attacked amid rivaling protests in Portland in June.

"Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!" Trump tweeted in July.

USA Today reported that far-right groups, including members of white nationalist militia groups, have said they will travel to Portland for demonstrations on Saturday.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) told The Oregonian that he believes far-right groups organize in Portland, which is known for a left-leaning culture, because it guarantees that activists will respond to their events, generating news coverage.

"I think they come to Portland because it gives them a platform,” he said. “They know that if they come here conflict is almost guaranteed.”

Portland protests: 13 arrested as police declare civil disturbance

Aug 17,

By The Oregonian/OregonLive

Right-wing activists and those protesting their presence converged Saturday on Portland’s downtown waterfront in a much-anticipated confrontation that captivated a nation inflamed by rising division and resentment, with even President Donald Trump entering the Fray.

Police mostly succeeded in separating demonstrators on opposite ends of the ideological spectrum as members of the Proud Boys and counterprotesters both arrived at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

The Proud Boys gathered to condemn self-described anti-fascist activists, or antifa, who publicly confront those they believe espouse racist or bigoted views and who have a large presence in Portland. The groups traded shouts of “USA” and “Go home, Nazis” during the sometimes tense face-off.

After taunts and chants, the showdown devolved into a roving game of cat-and-mouse as packs of political rivals crisscrossed bridges above the Willamette River and police scrambled to keep them apart.

Skirmishes, pepper spray and arrests on the city’s east and west sides followed over the course of hours as crowds of mostly counterprotesters roamed the streets.

Demonstrators dressed in black and masking their faces hurled mayonnaise and smashed windows of at least one shuttle bus carrying right-wing activists.

Police, at one point, declared a civil disturbance.

Yet the powder keg that elected leaders and law enforcement feared could engulf the city largely fizzled. Various factions jockeyed to declare victory.

“We wanted national attention and we got it,” said Joe Biggs, a Florida resident and former InfoWars staffer who organized the right-wing event. “Mission success.”

The Proud Boys describe themselves as “patriots” and “Western chauvinists.” A number of their members are supportive of misogynistic, racist or xenophobic sentiments. Others are prone to violence.

Biggs had called on like-minded people from around the country to decry a recent attack in the city against conservative writer Andy Ngo by black-clad demonstrators, video of which racked up millions of views online and generated days of national headlines.

Participants also backed a U.S. Senate resolution to label antifa as “domestic terrorists” sponsored by Texas Republican Ted Cruz.

Some, including Biggs, had talked openly online about the Portland event and the desire to “exterminate” antifa. Other event supporters posted images on social media depicting graphic beat downs, knives slicing the throats of enemies and corpses in body bags.

Rose City Antifa, Portland’s homegrown, amorphous band of anti-fascist activists, called on supporters to turn out in opposition to the demonstration.
false

Despite some of the violent rhetoric surrounding the rally, Trump on Saturday morning appeared to amplify those clamoring to crack down on anti-fascists.

"Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an ‘ORGANIZATION OF TERROR,’” the president tweeted. “Portland is being watched very closely. Hopefully the Mayor will be able to properly do his job!”

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler later fired back at Trump in a CNN interview.

“This is a potentially dangerous and volatile situation,” Wheeler said. “Adding to that noise doesn’t do anything to support or help the efforts that are going on here in Portland.”

At the start of the demonstrations, concrete slabs and a line of police officers formed a barricade beneath the Morrison Bridge to separate the rival groups, with the Proud Boys and their supporters to the south and counterprotesters to the north.

The right-wing activists, some wearing body armor and helmets, burst into chants of “USA,” sang the national anthem and tried to plant an American flag into the ground.

Counterdemonstrators near the Battleship Oregon Memorial Marine Park varied from local Jewish and Buddhist faith leaders, to a marching band sporting bright yellow banana costumes, to protesters wearing all black.

Some members of the rival groups exchanged heated words and goaded one another, though officers kept them mostly at a distance.

Portland police said officers seized multiple weapons from groups, including bear spray, shields and metal poles.

Yet most participants were peaceful.

“We have to show them that we don’t agree with what they stand for,” said Deanna Flores, 62, who came to oppose the Proud Boys. “Portland is for everybody.”

Joey Gibson, a local provocateur leader of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer, later arrived in the morning holding an American flag and wearing a red Make America Great Again baseball cap.

“I’m just here for the ride,” said Gibson, who was booked Friday into the Multnomah County jail on a felony rioting charge stemming from a May 1 fight outside a Northeast Portland cidery. He was released hours later on bail.

After about 90 minutes the showdown dissipated and people went on the move. The Proud Boys and their supporters began to march over the Hawthorne Bridge, which had been closed earlier in the day.

Police escorted the group across the bridge and prevented counterprotesters from following.

"It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t orchestrated,” said Sgt. Brandon White, a spokesman for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. “We had a request that they would like to leave the area and so we facilitated.”

Later, counterdemonstrators crossed over the Steel Bridge in search of their adversaries. By then, many of the Proud Boys and their supporters had taken off. Some later decamped to Bagley Community Park in Vancouver for a gathering and barbecue.

As the afternoon wore on, police made at least 13 arrests around town as people posted video showing multiple confrontations. Demonstrators often wandered into the street, sometimes blocking traffic, chanting and beating drums. Many held cellphones aloft taking it all in.

In one flare-up, a large group of left-wing protesters encircled right-wing activist John Turano — known as “Based Spartan” — and his adult daughter, threatening and chasing them. The pair wore American-flag garb and Turano had on a vest that on the back read: “I hate the left n racism.”

Police, who estimated more than 1,200 demonstrators altogether, said they were clambering to continue to try to keep the opposing groups apart. They also reported six injuries, all minor, including a person officers found hurt and sent to a hospital.

More than 700 law enforcement officers from 15 agencies worked on crowd control, police said.

By late afternoon, with the clashes abating, a group of left-wing protesters gathered at Pioneer Courthouse Square and streets near it.

At an early evening press conference, the mayor thanked police for what he described as a mostly nonviolent event.

Wheeler also took aim at Biggs, claiming his efforts are costing the city millions of dollars and that, in a national culture of fear caused by hate crimes and mass shootings, Biggs is feeding that sense of unease.

Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw said the bureau achieved its two goals for the day: keeping people safe and allowing the public to exercise its free-speech rights.

Outlaw said officers were involved in six “force events,” one involving pepper balls and the others involving takedowns of people resisting officers.

Those arrested face allegations of disorderly conduct, interfering with police, resisting arrest and weapons, she said.

The Proud Boys, meanwhile, issued a press release saying they plan to return to Portland in a month unless the city does more to crack down on anti-fascists.

Effie Baum, an organizer with Popular Mobilization, or PopMob, which helped plan the counterprotests, said they’d be ready.

“We built a very diverse coalition of people who turned out to say that hate is not welcome here," Baum said. “When the Proud Boys come back, there will be even more of us.”

Mayor Wheeler, that isn't a crime.

Seriously, both sides are just trying to goad the other side into violence. And most of the people taking part in these events don't realize how they're being used.

Biggs is an Iraq veteran. He knows exactly what he's doing. He and others on the right of this "low intensity conflict" are engaging their communist enemy. There are people on both sides just itching for someone to cross the line and give them a legitimate excuse to go game on. Can't say I blame the " Proud Boys". They're tired of the leftists attacking whites, conservatives, Christians etc. And they're fed up with the leftist "mainstream" media supporting them and always portraying everyone on the right as a racist / terrorist.

It's past time people grew a pair and put the democratic socialist left in it's place once and for all.

A pair of conservative rally demonstrators were attacked and chased down a highway by a large Antifa mob after they got separated from the main group of conservative marchers.

Video footage from Saturday’s “End Domestic Terrorism” rally in Portland, Oregon, shows dozens of Antifa members surrounding and attacking a pair of patriot demonstrators – one of which was clad in a Roman gladiator outfit – with unknown liquids as he fends off the violent group away from his young female companion, presumably his daughter.

The pair was assaulted with several bottles of yellow liquid while they attempted to flee the mob which chased them down onto the highway with no police in sight.

However, local media reports that police did ultimately intervene in the situation.

Though the march was largely peaceful due to the large police presence elsewhere, Antifa still was able to attack several demonstrators and destroy property.

It would be satisfying, but it won't change anyone's mind. Of course, that's not their goal anyway.

Let Antifa and the other liberals have Portland. When Portland turns into Caracas, then some people will learn the truth about socialism.

ABC, NBC Provide Cover for Antifa TERRORISM, Claim They’re ‘Counter-Protesters’

By Nicholas Fondacaro | August 18, 2019

The domestic terrorist organization known as Antifa carried out attacks at a “right-wing” rally in Portland, Oregon on Saturday by targeting peaceful rally goers, police, and members of the press. As the liberal media have done in the past, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Sunday Today, carried water for the extreme left-wing terrorists by downplaying their actions and by suggesting they’re simply “counter-protesters”.

ABC’s coverage was absolutely abysmal. With an on-screen headline that suggested the “right-wing” was responsible for the violence, GMA co-anchor Dan Harris offered up just a news brief that lasted just 22 seconds:

DAN HARRIS: Meanwhile, violent street confrontations in Portland, Oregon, 13 people arrested, six injured, when more than 1,000 right-wing demonstrators and counter-protesters descended upon the downtown area. Police say that they were pelted with water bottles while making an arrest there. Officers also confiscated a number of weapons, including knives, shields, and stun guns.

Throwing water bottles was arguably among the least of Antifa’s tactics. According to footage of their attacks, Antifa assaulted a bus filled with the “right-wing” marchers (as they were trying to leave the even) and tried to beam people in the head with a hammer.

They were also targeting reporters and threatening their wellbeing, as they did with Washington Examiner reporter Julio Rosas. The terrorists also beat one middle-aged man unconscious and, as Quillette reporter Andy Ngo reported, there were no police in sight.

Despite the fact that Portland police left many of the “right-wing” folks high and dry to the terrorism of Antifa, NBC Sunday Today host Willier Geist began the segment by noting that “the mayor of Portland Oregon is praising his police force”.

Surprisingly, NBC dedicated almost three minutes to the violence but even then they downplayed Antifa’s terrorist actions by using rosy language. According to correspondent Steve Patterson, who was also at the rally, the event was held by “right-wing extremists” who “went head-to-head with left-wing anti-fascists”.

Patterson highlighted his conversations with two of the Antifa terrorists:

ANTIFA TERRORIST 1: It is not free speech, it is hate speech and we as the people of this city are not going to take it.

(…)

ANTIFA TERRORIST 2: There’s no two sides. There’s Nazi and there’s not Nazi.

Of course, Patterson didn’t seem to question or care to explain why the people he was talking to were wearing black masks.

Seeming to sympathize with the terrorists, Patterson showed of how the mob of dozens was assailing an apparent lone “right-wing protester”. “Right now, you see a crowd of counter-protesters. In the middle is what appears to be a right-wing protester. And they are going all they can to push him out,” he said as if Antifa was acting nobly.

Patterson then huffed about how President Trump started “the day by labeling Antifa an ‘organization of terror’.” He can be act shocked by the label all he wants but the fact that Antifa cooked up a plot to firebomb an ICE detention center, just last month, proves they’re terrorists.

Meanwhile, NBC still refuses to report on how Antifa terrorists attacked one of their reporters and his crew just over a year ago.

NBC’s Sunday Today
August 18, 2019
8:02:41 a.m. Eastern

WILLIE GEIST: This morning the mayor of Portland Oregon, is praising his police force for ensuring that a standoff between far-right and far-left groups itching for a fight on Saturday did not turn into wider violence like the city has seen in the past. There were, though, confrontations and some arrests. NBC’s Steve Patterson was in the middle of it all. He joins us now from Portland. Steve, good morning.

STEVE PATTERSON: Willie, for weeks this was essentially a planned and promoted clash between two factions that could have easily devolved into a street brawl. It didn't. What it was though, however, was another day for hateful rhetoric and pockets of violence.

[Cuts to video]

Pease shattered in Portland as national attention turned to yet another ideological clash echoing in the streets.

Saturday, right-wing extremists went head-to-head with left-wing anti-fascists in what has become a predictably ugly street duel.

The conflict started when hundreds of right-wing protesters assembled for a rally on the city’s waterfront. A show of force from some 700 police officers trying to keep the peace. This counter-protester says there’s no place for it in Portland

ANTIFA TERRORIST 1: It is not free speech, it is hate speech and we as the people of this city are not going to take it.

PATTERSON: Former Info Wars staffer Joe Biggs organized the event as a show of force against the city’s Antifa movement. He said it was meant to stir up the left and it worked.

JOE BIGGS: We just came in. We did a marched peacefully. We went in, planted our flag, came back out. And they’re chasing us right now.

PATTERSON: Members of the city’s Antifa chapter pushed back, leading to sporadic outbursts of violence.

Most of the protesting has been peaceful but we do see these flare-ups in the crowd. Right now, you see a crowd of counter-protesters. In the middle is what appears to be a right-wing protester. And they are going all they can to push him out.

The President starting the day by labeling Antifa an “organization of terror”. We pushed them for a response to the protest.

We would love to hear your two sides.

ANTIFA TERRORIST 2: There’s no two sides. There’s Nazi and there’s not Nazi.

PATTERSON: And with one right-wing group threatening monthly protests, the mayor of Portland responding.

TED WHEELER: I want to be very clear. We do not want him here in my city period.

[Cuts back to live

PATTERSON: So police managing to get the upper hand by mostly keeping those two groups separate. As you saw, though, it did get ugly. 13 arrests, six injuries. But by and large, if you look at the whole thing, this was mostly a peaceful affair. Willie.

GEIST: Looks like police did a good job this time for the most part. Steve Patterson in Portland, thank you very much.

Warning for foul language.

Here's a video of both groups swarming into downtown Portland. I like the idiot wearing a helmet and paying more attention to his cellphone than he is to what's going on around him. But seriously, most of these folks have room temperature IQ's.

If Trump really wants to build a wall, he should build it around Portland.
