Quote
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered a service-wide ‘stand down’ for the next 60 days to give military leaders the chance to address extremism in the ranks ... Under the stand down, service members would have a break in their regular activity, so ‘each service, each command and each unit can take the time out to have these needed discussions with the men and women of the force’ ... Austin issued the stand-down order in a meeting with all the service secretaries and service chiefs on Wednesday morning. Military leaders said the lack of a concrete definition for extremism often makes it challenging to root out among the enlisted ... there is no uniform policy on policing social media accounts of service members, since there are First Amendment issues to consider. Both of these problems will likely be discussed during the stand down to help move forward”

This follows news of the Pentagon Purge reported earlier in the day. It’s clear that the Biden Regime intends to purge patriots from the military. Obama notoriously purged the officer corps of potential counter-revolutionaries and obstructionists, and now Biden seeks the same for the enlisted ranks. It’s fitting that the effort openly seeks to mitigate the 1st Amendment rights of soldiers in order to more effectively accomplish this purge. One would be wise to wonder what intentions the Biden Regime has that it sees it necessary to maintain the military occupation of Washington DC, and to simultaneously work to purge soldiers failing his political litmus test.

I have always loved that quote! And that man.

1960 was indeed a “time for choosing” as Reagan put it... and we they chose wrong!

"Government at its best is a necessary evil, and at its worst, an intolerable one."
Thomas Paine (from "Common Sense" 1776)

My dad told me Goldwater was only the second Republican he'd ever voted for. The first was Eisenhower.

You know you're old when you can still remember Eisenhower's military industrial complex speech.

"The time for war has not yet come, but it will come and that soon, and when it does come, my advice is to draw the sword and throw away the scabbard." Gen. T.J. Jackson, March 1861

You're really old when you can remember wearing an "I Like Ike" button. laugh

I remember asking my dad whether he planned to vote for Kennedy or Nixon. "Neither one," he said. "I don't care for Kennedy at all, but I just don't trust that SOB Nixon."

My dad was a pretty good judge of character.

Sorry... got my years wrong... Goldwater vs Johnson... “time for choosing” was ‘64.

That was a pivotal turning point in our national history where I believe we chose wrong. The GOP establishment did their trick to destroy their own nominee rather than see an outsider take control of “their” party. Like Reagan a generation later, then the TEA Party and Trump another generation later... the GOP establishment is all too happy to undermine a popular outsider in their party if that means loosing an election. They would rather play the “loyal opposition” role if that meant they kept control of “their” party.

That was the first election I REALLY got interested in as Goldwater's VP pick had given me a great Birthday present when my Dad was on his staff. Pair of Mattel fanner 50's two gun rig.

General Curtis LeMay I salute you sir!
