WATCH: Nick Sandmann’s Lawyers Release Video of ‘The Truth’ About ‘March for Life’

BREITBART 4 Feb 2019

Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann’s legal team released a 15-minute video on Friday exposing “the truth” about what happened to him at January’s March for Life.

https://youtu.be/lSkpPaiUF8s

Sandmann’s lead attorney, nationally-recognized First Amendment expert L. Lin Wood, said in a tweet Saturday that the release of the full video was meant to show “the full truth” of what happened to his client at the March for Life, combating many of the “agenda-driven” accusations and threats resulting from the piecemeal 30-second clips circulating the Internet:

Some say a 15-minute video is too long to go viral. Will we allow incomplete 30-second video clips to be basis for agenda-driven false accusations & threats against a 16-year old student? Please share the full truth about what was done to Nick Sandmann. https://t.co/QGglyZwiIa

— Lin Wood (@LLinWood) February 2, 2019

The 15-minute video montage placed all the 30-second video clips together in one timeline to combat some of the false narratives promoted by figures in the mainstream media, celebrities, politicians, and church leaders, and to show all of Sandmann’s actions leading up to the confrontation with Native American activist Nathan Phillips.

“Two weeks ago, the mainstream media, politicians, church officials, commentators & celebrities rushed to judgment to wrongfully condemn, threaten, disparage & vilify Nick Sandmann based solely on a few seconds of an out-of-context video clip. It only takes 15 minutes to learn the truth,” the YouTube video’s description stated.

Sandmann’s legal team has been preparing to send defamation suit warning letters to a laundry list of celebrities, individual journalists, media outlets, and several Catholic dioceses who falsely accused Sandmann and his classmates of harassing a Native American.

The Cincinnati Inquirer released the full list of people and organizations listed in the lawsuit:

Better Lawyer Up: CovCatholic Target Nick Sandmann Files MASSIVE $250 Million Lawsuit Against Washington Post

Social justice warriors and media pundits better lawyer up, because Covington Catholic’s Nick Sandmann isn’t playing around. The teenager, who became the target of racist accusations and doxxing in January, has begun filing lawsuits against those who libeled him, called for the release of his personal information and organized battalions of online social media accounts to threaten him.

On Tuesday, lawyers for Sandmann filed a massive $250 million dollar lawsuit against the Jeff Bezos owned Washington Post, one of the leading media companies behind the narrative.

Lin Wood @LLinWood

Every journey starts with a first step. The journey to achieve justice for Nick Sandmann will begin today. To borrow a phrase used by others - tick tock . . .

Today, @LLinWood and I filed a suit seeking $250 million dollars in damages on behalf of Nicholas Sandmann against The Washington Post. This is just the first of many. http://www.hemmerlaw.com/blog/for-truth-for-justice-for-nicholas/ … … #CovingtonBoys #CovingtonCatholic

Lin Wood @LLinWood

In a span of three (3) days in January of this year commencing on January 19, the Washington Post engaged in a modern-day form of McCarthyism to claim leadership of a mainstream & social media mob of bullies which attacked, vilified & threatened Nick Sandmann, an innocent minor.

As noted by The Daily Wire:

The lawsuit accuses The Washington Post of targeting Sandmann “because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ souvenir cap on a school field trip to the January 18 March for Life in Washington, D.C. when he was unexpectedly and suddenly confronted by Nathan Phillips (‘Phillips’), a known Native American activist, who beat a drum and sang loudly within inches of his face (‘the January 18 incident’).”

“In targeting and bullying Nicholas by falsely accusing him of instigating the January 18 incident, the Post conveyed that Nicholas engaged in acts of racism by “swarming” Phillips, “blocking” his exit away from the students, and otherwise engaging in racist misconduct,” the lawsuit continued. “The Post ignored basic journalist standards because it wanted to advance its well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump (“the President”) by impugning individuals perceived to be supporters of the President.”

Full report

Last month Sandmann’s attorneys sent cease and desist letters to scores of media stations, individual journalists and owners of social media accounts warning them of potential forthcoming lawsuits.

Included in this list were media pundits from CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times. Hollywood personalities including Alyssa Milano, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher and Jim Carrey also received letters.

It is not clear if lawsuits will be filed for everyone on the list, but today’s filing has no doubt sent shivers down the spines of those who engaged in online bullying tactics to destroy the life of a teenager who did nothing more than stand still while waiting for his school bus to pick him up.

Here is the legal complaint. It's a mix of non-legal accusations and legal claims, the main one being defamation. Here are some of the claims:

Quote
The Post published its False and Defamatory Accusations negligently and with actual knowledge of falsity or a reckless disregard for the truth.

As one of the world's leading news outlets, the Post knew but ignored the importance of verifying damaging, and in this case, incendiary accusations against a minor child prior to publication.

The negligence and actual malice of the Post is demonstrated by its utter and knowing disregard for the truth available in the complete video of the January 18 incident which was available contemporaneously with the edited clip the Post chose because it appeared to support its biased narrative.

Instead of investigation and publishing the true story, the Post recklessly rushed to publish its False and Defamatory Accusations in order to advance its own political agenda against President Trump.

In doing so, the Post lifted the incident from social media and placed it in the mainstream media, giving its False and Defamatory Accusations credibility and permanence.

It's not real clear who the "unbiased" witnesses are that the Post should have talked to before printing. (In fact, I'm not sure there were any unbiased witnesses at all.) My gut feeling is, if it goes to trial, Sandmann will have a difficult time winning. I suspect there's going to be a settlement in this case.

Even if the kid looses, it's about time conservatives start suing the crap out of the left. Tie them up in court for years and bleed them dry.

Yep. He doesn't have to win $250 million. If he wins $250, he still wins. Heck, if he just gets an apology, he wins. This reminds me a lot of the Richard Jewel case.

Video: Covington Lawyers Release Update Detailing Lawsuits Against WaPo, CNN

$525 million lawsuits against the two Fake News entities

By Infowars.com Wednesday, March 13, 2019

The legal team representing Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann has released a video explaining their massive lawsuits against The Washington Post and CNN.

The video, called “Nick Sandmann vs Media Giants,” explains how these corporate outlets “messed with the wrong kid,” resulting in a $250 million lawsuit against WaPo and a $275 million lawsuit against CNN.

“Both recklessly spread lies about a minor to advance their own financial and political agendas. Despite raw video debunking the false narrative, the Post and CNN doubled down on their reckless lies,” the narrator says while showing various talking heads vilifying Sandmann.

“How long will we allow these media giants to tear at the fabric of our lives to further their own agendas? Will they ever be held accountable?”

“Yes, they will,” the narrator says. “Nicholas Sandmann has taken a stand for himself and for you by filing major lawsuits against CNN and the Washington Post.”

Sandmann sought legal counsel following an interview on the “Today” show where he attempted to explain his side of the incident with Native American Nathan Phillips which went viral in January.

Since then, the media has doubled down in their demonization of Sandmann simply because he was wearing a Make America Great Again hat.
