Here's the latest update: UPDATE 12:18 PM EDT: Web servers mi3-wss2, mi3-wss3, mi3-wss4, mi3-wss6, mi3-wss7 and mi3-wss8 have been recovered and now back online. The SQL servers associated with them are still being worked on. Please stay tuned for more updates. I don't know who did it, but it's curious that both AWRM and Assault Web went down. It's almost like someone doesn't like us. I'm not really into conspiracy theories, and i don't really think we were the target, but it is curious. Onward and upward, airforce

Both websites are on the same server.

From A2 Hosting: Our preliminary investigation has determined that during the early hours on Monday the 22nd, our Windows platform was the victim of a malware attack. Once we detected the presence of malware, in order to prevent further spread, we shut down the entire Windows fleet and began our mitigation. To protect client data, our fleet has remained offline while we conducted our investigation.
Based on our initial investigation, we have no reason to believe that personal information or data was downloaded due to this malware. It is important to note that A2's Billing systems and internal infrastructure were not compromised in any way. This attack only targeted our Windows platform.
Our Engineering team determined that the safest course of action is to restore all servers from backup. This will ensure that no malware remains on any A2 systems. Around the clock work has resulted in several affected websites and servers coming back online. We are optimistic that at the current pace, the majority of the impacted services will be back online before the weekend. Individual servers will be listed on our status page as they become fully available again.
We are not taking this issue lightly. While our current main focus is to restore services, a thorough investigation will be performed and a more detailed report released later once our investigation is complete and services are back online.
Your continued patience and support is greatly appreciated. I can't find fault with them. They detected the problem, and did what they had to do to protect us. They did the right thing. Onward and upward, airforce

Some folks have apparently been getting 503 errors, don't know if Assault Web is one of them. A2 Hosting is still trying to clear things up, but no new issues are being reported. They're still working on bringing their VPS servers back online. UPDATE 3:15 PM EDT: Some customers who were experiencing 503 Errors on their sites, we are looking in to those issues and we will provide further information on our progress with that as we have it available. We appreciate your patience and more updates to follow.
UPDATE 5:15 PM EDT: mi3-wts1, mi3-ss9, and sg1-wts1 are all back online. The connected MSSQL database server for mi3-wts1 is still undergoing repair/restore. The issue with 503 errors should now be under control for those that were experiencing them. Onward and upward, airforce

Here is where a bunch of folks from AW are gathering until the site is back up. http://assaultweb.freeforums.net/Doc, I do not know what it cost as Wood Devil did it, but I think it might be FREE. We might want to look into that also, JUST IN CASE.

Were back again. Hopefully the host has the problem fixed this time. Just in case, everyone should bookmark the backup web forum at: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/signal_corps/

The comments from site owners on their twitter feed were interesting. Lot's of "happy" campers.

At one time they had 25 servers down due to the hack. Supposedly law enforcement is investigating the source of the attack. I have a feeling it's related to the hack I told you about a while ago.

Yes, it's slow. The guys over at assault web are having the same problem. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes just to load a page.
I'm also hearing a lot of complaints from folks that the net in general just isn't working right. Yesterday, CenturyLink went down in my area...NO phone or internet for most of the day. The other day a gov. agency reported that the power grid in CA, Utah and Wyo. had been hacked causing a widespread outage. Maybe rocket man is pissed off again.

It is as like this for about 24 hrs. Seems to be back working again,

I doubt it and the bill will be almost double the first payment which we got at a discount for switching over to them.

UPDATE 2:15 PM EDT: Our Engineering team continues to work to resolve the issues affecting our Windows servers. We understand there are some customers unable to see their sites and we're working to resolve this as fast as we can. This is getting old. At least I haven't seen that weird timeout message for a while. Onward and upward, airforce

A small portion of the Windows servers in our fleet are currently experiencing issues with the control panel and sites loading slowly. Users hosted on these servers will experience service degradation as a result. Our System Operations team is investigating the root cause of this interruption. We will provide updates as more details are made available. So fr, so good. Let's hope it lasts this time. Onward and upward, airforce
