FBI Expanding Interaction With Local Agencies To Combat Militia Extremists

he Federal Bureau of Investigation has expanded their interaction with other federal and state agencies to combat militia extremists, the bureau said in a blog post this week.

"In addition to our lawful use of sophisticated investigative techniques, we've expanded our work with other federal agencies such as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and with our state and local partners," the FBI said in the blog post.

"And we use intelligence and analysis to help identify gaps in our knowledge, emerging tactics and trends, and effective investigative strategies," the post states.

Using the case against nine members of the Michigan-based Hutaree militia as an example, the FBI writes that militia extremists "usually go after the government itself -- including law enforcement personnel, representatives of the courts, and other public officials, along with government buildings."

"Militia extremists often subscribe to various conspiracy theories regarding government," the FBI's blog post says. "One of their primary theories is that the United Nations -- which they refer to as the New World Order, or NWO -- has the right to use its military forces anywhere in the world (it doesn't, of course).

"The extremists often train and prepare for what they foresee as an inevitable invasion of the U.S. by United Nations forces," the FBI writes.

The FBI's website has done similar profiles of other domestic terrorist threats like sovereign citizens and eco-terrorists. Given that other government agencies have gotten into dicey political territory when discussing the threat of right-wing extremism, the post was careful to note that simple rhetoric against the government wasn't against the law.

"One important note: simply espousing anti-government rhetoric is not against the law," the post states. "However, seeking to advance that ideology through force or violence is illegal, and that's when the FBI and law enforcement become involved."

Here's how the FBI described militia extremists:

Who they are. Like many domestic terrorism groups, militia extremists are anti-government. What sets them apart is that they're often organized into paramilitary groups that follow a military-style rank hierarchy. They tend to stockpile illegal weapons and ammunition, trying illegally to get their hands on fully automatic firearms or attempting to convert weapons to fully automatic. They also try to buy or manufacture improvised explosive devices and typically engage in wilderness, survival, or other paramilitary training.

Who and what they target. They usually go after the government itself--including law enforcement personnel, representatives of the courts, and other public officials, along with government buildings. When caught, most militia extremists are charged with weapons, explosives, and/or conspiracy violations.

What they believe in. Many militia extremists view themselves as protecting the U.S. Constitution, other U.S. laws, or their own individual liberties. They believe that the Constitution grants citizens the power to take back the federal government by force or violence if they feel it's necessary. They oppose gun control efforts and fear the widespread disarming of Americans by the federal government.

Militia extremists often subscribe to various conspiracy theories regarding government. The founders of the United Sates intended the militia to always be the last line for defense against tyranny and foreign invasion.

Typical propaganda put out by the government to further divide the left against the right. As long as they can keep the people and the various groups fighting amongst themselves it takes the heat off the criminal regime in DC.

A couple of militia up here in the northwest are running like hell because of that article.
When something as simple as that causes cowards to run it is very saddening.

I read the above article aloud to somebody, and as we arrived at--

--on the news channel behind us, they began discussing Perry and his ordeal with mandating vaccinations. WE both stopped, turned around, and started nervously laughing.

Too bad we aren't members of the Sinaloa cartel, then the FBI would be subsidizing our weapons purchases.

Well, they didn't call the militias liars...

What can you expect? I mean they can't go too hard on their Mexican Cartel distributors(too much business), and the street gang street dealers are always around-but Americans calling their public servants on their shit? Can't have dissidents gaining ANY ground or waking people up or it's over. That's why there was OKC and that's why COINTELPRO has worked overtime to divert the militias, snitch, stymie, what have you.

Know their game, change conduct, keep going.

The problem is that they have such highly developed images of their own capabilities that they don't realize that if they had respected militia leaders in every state where they could slip in a stooge or two every couple years and keep a real tab on them. Instead they get loud on the blogs and in the press and instead of having highly visible patriots that they can watch they get the one man or two man teams who can keep tabs on them.
They get some good press off of an Hutarri but they get cleaned out by someone like the Clinic Bomber down in NC.
What they don't understand is that what we say here is not even close to what we really know and are able to accomplish.
The run that "They hate cops" rubbish and thus never pickup on the number of LEO we actually have in our ranks.
If they get these Cartels running loose in the back country they will end up having to call on the Militias to dig them out.
I understand that the ATF and the FBI have real agents who are doing the job like professionals, but like the Military they also have Political assignees' who have to get some lights and paper for the gipper or start looking for a job in Security.

Citizens With No Ties to Terror Groups Present 'Serious National Security Threat'

Testifying yesterday in Congress, FBI Director Robert Mueller and National Counterterrorism Center director Matthew Olsen both agreed that the seldom used “lone wolf” provision of the USA PATRIOT Act, a provision which allows broad intelligence gathering of people with no actual terrorism ties, would become much more widely used in the months and years to come.

Indeed, while Mueller claimed the FBI had never once used the “lone wolf” provision, but that US citizens with no actually ties to terror groups pose a “serious national security threat” and would need to be targeted more.

Olsen concurred with this sentiment, adding that such people are “probably the greatest challenge that we face.” The two also agreed that Congress needs to give them even more broad surveillance powers, citing the popularity of Android-based smartphones.

The FBI’s surveillance of Americans remains a serious issue, though the widespread classification of government records means the true extent of the policy may never be known. Thus while Mueller assures that no one has ever been targeted as a “lone wolf,” they continue to target American citizens for lawful activities.
