At Least 12 dead at Washington Navy Yard - 09/16/2013 11:40 AM

Details are still sketchy, but at least 12 are dead, including apparently one of the shooters , and police are still looking for two more suspects wearing tan and green cammo.

Quote
At least 12 people are dead and others were wounded after as many as three shooters dressed in military style uniforms opened fire in a rampage at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday, police said, spreading fear and chaos across the region as authorities tried to contain the incident.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier announced the mounting death toll in a 2 p.m. news conference. One suspected shooter is dead, and Lanier said authorities still are looking for two other potential suspects wearing green and tan military style clothing.

About 16,000 military and civilian employees work in the complex’s 2.2 million square feet of offices.

“The big concern for us right now is that we have potentially two other shooters that we have not located at this point,” Lanier said.

Mayor Vincent C. Gray said no motive is known. He said they have no reason to believe it was an act of terrorism, though he said he could not rule it out....
Well, of course it wasn't terrorism. After all, President Obama killed bin Laden single-handedly, didn't he?

Quote
Lanier described one of the possible suspects as a white male in his 40s, wearing what appeared to be tan military clothing, “consistent with a Navy uniform,” and a beret. She said police also are looking for a black man in his 40s with gray sideburns, wearing an olive-drab military-style uniform.

“We have multiple pieces of information that would suggest” that the two suspects are armed. “We have reason to believe that they are involved in some way.”

Police are asking anyone with information on these two people to call 202-727-9099.

Two law enforcement officials said the shooter is among the 12 dead. The dead shooter had an assault rifle and a handgun, two law enforcement officials said. One said he also had a shotgun.

The officials said police are working under the theory that there may be additional shooters because of witness accounts and surveillance video among other information. One of those officials also said all the weapons were not accounted for....

They say the one shooter who was killed was a military contractor named Aaron Alexis. Black guy.

Strong speculation is that he showed up with a shotgun, took out a security guard and got a 9mm, then took down a cop and got an AR15.

Reports from estranged family is that he worked with "Computer stuff". Victims say a white guy and a black guy in their 40s are suspected of being the other shooters.

This smells like a spook op went haywire and some small self directed cell opted to wipe out someone's operation in a loud and public manner punctuated by enough bodies to get international attention.

It apparently took place at the Navy Sea Systems Command Center.

I think it's interesting that this happened just a few days after Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of Al Qaeda, called for attacks inside the U.S.

Quote
Al-Qaida's leader on Friday marked the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks by calling on Muslims to strike inside the United States, with big attacks or small, using any opportunity they can to "bleed" America financially.

In an audio message released two days after the 12th anniversary of the attacks, Ayman al-Zawahri said America is not a "mythic power" and that the mujahedeen — Islamic holy warriors — can defeat it with attacks "on its own soil."

Al-Zawahri, the successor to Osama bin Laden, used the anniversary to argue that the United States can be defeated by targeting its economy. At the same time, he also addressed the ongoing upheaval in the Arab world. Pointing to a power struggle going on within the rebellion against Syria's regime, he warned jihadi fighters in that country's civil war not "compromise" with more secular or moderate rebel factions, who he said would eventually turn against the al-Qaida-linked radicals....

"We were lucky he was a bad shot."

Quote
Terrie Durham and Todd Brundidge, both executive assistants in Building 197, said they were shuffling people out of the exit on their floor when the shooter walked into the hall and started firing.

“I could see his face,” Ms Durham said. “He looked around and fired. We were lucky he was a bad shot.”

Mr. Brundidge said the hallway between the shooter and himself was about 30 yards.

He could see the shooter was a man dressed in what appeared to be blue clothing. He said he could not tell if it was a uniform.

Asked whether the gunman said anything, Ms. Durham said “not a word. He raised the gun and started firing....

Aaron Alexis did not use an AR-15 in the shooting. He was apparently armed with a shotgun and two handguns, which he may have taken from guards.

Quote
...A U.S. law enforcement official said Monday that gunman Aaron Alexis unleashed a barrage of bullets using an AR-15, a rifle and a semi-automatic handgun. Authorities believed the AR-15 was used for most of the shooting, the official said. The news prompted Sen. Dianne Feinstein, one of the strongest proponents of a ban on assault weapons like the AR-15, to issue a statement the same day asking, "When will enough be enough?"

However, federal law enforcement sources told CNN Tuesday that authorities have recovered three weapons from the scene of the mass shooting, including one -- a shotgun -- that investigators believe Alexis brought in to the compound. The other two weapons, which sources say were handguns, may have been taken from guards at the Navy complex.

The sources, who have detailed knowledge of the investigation, cautioned that initial information that an AR-15 was used in the shootings may have been incorrect. It is believed that Alexis had rented an AR-15, but returned it before Monday morning's shootings. Authorities are still investigating precisely how many weapons Alexis had access to and when....

I have a nagging question here.

On most shootings like this one of the first things that hits the news media to the public are pictures of the victims. Like Sandy Hook's teachers or the Martin vs. Zimmerman in FL.

It is just that the spider sense has noticed all reference to the victims race has been missing so far. Has anyone caught any information if the victims were anyone he could shoot or where they all white folks?

I saw photos of the victims on the Commie News Network's (CNN's) website and one of them was a negro. You can see photos of 10 of them here http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2013/09/us/dc-navy-yard-victims/index.html?iid=article_sidebar

I'll bet the Obomination is telling the FDA to let the doctors prescribe all the murder inducing psychotropic drugs they can to further his gun confiscation agenda.

Here is where the Commie News Network faggots lied and said the mass murderer used an AR-15 when they knew it was a shotgun.

"He was armed with an AR-15, a rifle and a semi-automatic Glock. It is believed he used AR-15 for most of the shooting, the official said."

The D.C. commissars held off the SWAT unit that had arrived to let him murder more victims.

SWAT Team Told to ‘Stand Down’ During Navy Shooting Stonewalled by Authorities

Unit’s leader replaced, others apply for leave

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
September 20, 2013

Members of a Washington SWAT team who were told to stand down during the Navy Yard shooting have been stonewalled by authorities, while the leader of the elite unit has been replaced.

As we reported earlier this week, the highly trained Containment and Emergency Response Team (CERT) was just minutes away from Building 197 of the headquarters for Naval Sea Systems Command when Aaron Alexis began his rampage.

Being the only personnel on site armed with long guns, the CERT team was asked by an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD to aid in hunting down the active shooter.

However, when the CERT Team radioed their superiors to obtain permission to go ahead with the operation, they were told by a watch commander to leave the scene.

The CERT team members are expert marksmen and it’s almost inevitable that their involvement in neutralizing the gunman would have saved lives. By the time armed police arrived 30 minutes later, Alexis had already killed 12 victims.

“I don’t think it’s a far stretch to say that some lives may have been saved if we were allowed to intervene,” a Capitol Police source told the BBC.

Instead of receiving answers as to why they were ordered to stand down, the CERT team has been stonewalled by authorities.

“Days after the shooting, none of the officers has been questioned by officials or investigators from a special panel that was convened on Wednesday,” reports BBC News, despite standard operating procedure directing that they be debriefed immediately.

The department has also replaced the leader of the unit with no explanation and four members of the SWAT Team have also applied for applied for temporary leave, according to the report.

Re: At Least 12 dead at Washington Navy Yard - 09/20/2013 05:49 PM

Any action taken by any authorities to stretch the response time on an active shooter case to 30 minutes is a criminal act.

My guess is the CERT team guys are now running for their lives because they are in a lose/lose situation. The tactical community will call them cowards, and rightfully so, for holding back the way it went down in the Colorado school shootings, and then they made some public moves to come clean on the notion that they were ordered to stand down, which puts them in the crosshairs of their superiors who would then use the positions of authority to set them up to be killed. So they are bugging out.

In a different world, I could not blame them, but it's not a different world. Five, maybe ten minutes of murder and mayhem in the building at maximum and then it would be "fuck the dispatcher, we are going in". Boots on the ground has the better perspective, period.

Navy Yard Shooting: SWAT Team Ordered to ‘Stand Down’

Elite tactical team responsible for defending DC Capitol complex were reportedly ordered to leave the scene

Julie Wilson
Infowars.com
September 18, 2013

According to a BBC report, one of the most heavily armed police teams, assigned with the task of protecting the Capitol complex and responsible for responding to threats of terrorism, was ordered to stand down in response to Monday’s shooting at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters building in D.C.

The Containment and Emergency Response Team (CERT), is highly trained and equipped with the best gear on the market. The team consists of four men and is responsible for safeguarding the Capitol complex.

The specialty unit is the department’s elite tactical team assigned with the task of “dealing with the rise in terrorist actives being directed at the US and its citizens,” according to the SpecWarNet.net.

“Since there won’t be time to call for assistance in the event a terrorist is ever able to execute an attack against the Capitol, their [CERT] primary mission consists of rescuing Congressional members, their staff, and visitors who have been taken hostage by terrorists.”

“Secondary missions include, countering threats made against dignitaries, responding to critical incidents and providing security for major events, such as the Presidential Inauguration,” says the website.

Reports confirm that although the team arrived on the scene shortly after news spread of an active shooter situation at the Navy Yard, several Capitol Police team members say they were told by a watch commander to leave the scene.

The sources spoke anonymously to BBC in fear of repercussions.

The leader of the officers’ union, Jim Konczos, said the whole purpose of the CERT team is to respond to and handle active shooter situations. The officers, who are specifically trained to be expert marksmen, arrived fully dressed in their tactical gear and armed with HK-416 assault weapons around 9:00 a.m. Monday morning.

BBC’s report reveals that an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told the CERT team they were the “only police on the site equipped with long guns and requested their help stopping the gunman.”

However, shortly after the CERT team arrived, they were reportedly told to leave.

“I don’t think it’s a far stretch to say that some lives may have been saved if we were allowed to intervene,” said one Capitol Police source.

“Odds are it might have had a different outcome,” said Konczos. “It probably could have been neutralized.”

One Capitol Police officer who supposedly overheard the request for CERT to stand down felt frustrated by the command.

Spokeswoman for the MPD responded to the allegations saying they were “not true.” The Capitol Police announced Wednesday they are investigating the allegations and plan to pull radio logs from Monday’s incident.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Terry Gainer, overseer of the US Capitol Police Department, had the following response: “It’s a very serious allegation and inference to indicate that we were on scene and could have helped and were told to leave. It crushes me if that’s the case.”

The shooting left 13 people dead, including the suspect, Aaron Alexis.

Alexis, 34, was employed by a defense contractor for the Navy and had been issued a “secret” clearance and a common access card (CAC) that enabled him to get into the building.

Officials say they are reexamining the measures used to decide who can be granted such clearances. According to the Washington Post, 4.9 million federal government workers and contractors held such clearances last year.

US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has ordered the Pentagon to “…conduct a wide-ranging review of the physical security at all US defense installations across the world and of the security clearance process,” reported the BBC.

Re: At Least 12 dead at Washington Navy Yard - 09/21/2013 06:13 AM

Specific responsibility and or personal knowledge of who stepped into the DC police command structure is with the DC Capitol Police watch commander during that time period.

It is dirt common in government circles like that, especially with feds, and especially in the DC area for the various power brokers to use their rank and position to influence agencies other than their own. That's where a lot of the law enforcement "task force" organizational model comes from, as some leader types command task forces made up entirely of people not even from their own agency. On the other hand, patrol and tactical response usually go in a fairly linear paramilitary command structure. That is linear, until you get to a point where someone is at the decision making level and then may be influenced by an outside agency.

That's where the feds and the alphabets are experts extraordinaire, and where in the confusion of secret government stuff, the spooks constantly take advantage to obscure exactly who is giving which orders and why, so at the ground level, some trooper type gets his orders from a known superior, but at that watch commander level, he should not have had to "check with someone" to authorize deployment except for the one possibility of an assumption that the Navy already had some sort of elite security group in the building. That might explain the initial reports of multiple shooters and someone wearing paramilitary style uniforms that nobody recognized. That, and fuck them for assuming the black guy was the security guy and the white guys were some militia conspiracy theorists going off on a spree shooting. Fuck them and let them shoulder their prejudices at the funerals of their friends and loved ones.

That watch commander, his identity needs to become a number one top level priority among whatever joke of an intelligence structure that we happen to have, and it must also become the one test made to all these shitheads who claim to "come up with information" spoon feeding their conclusions along with a smattering of facts pulled from the Internet and "confirmed" by someone they will not give you the name of, but is "credible". If you know someone who maintains their .gov connections and they hesitate or withhold that information, they are an enemy of freedom and justice and I don't buy this bullshit of "ongoing investigation" that's just the fucking coverup.

First Responders: Radios Failed During Navy Yard Shooting

Technical snafu adds extra layer of mystery to Navy Yard shooting’s questionable events

Adan Salazar
Prison Planet.com
Sept. 21, 2013

In a report that has gone virtually unnoticed in the mainstream press, D.C. police and firefighters who first arrived to assist at the Washington Navy Yard earlier this week say they were frustrated when their radios failed during inspection of the building, adding yet another strange development to the already questionable set of circumstances that took place that day.

Navy Yard building: Emergency responders say radios lost contact inside building.

A union representative for the first responders said, “Initially, officers found that their radios were working. But as they ventured deeper into the building where the shooting took place, their equipment stopped functioning,” according to a report from The Hill.

Instead, officers were forced to rely on their cell phones to communicate with one another, a detail the chairman of the Fraternal Order of Police Naval District Washington Labor Committee, Anthony Meely, says was “unnecessary and sad.”

“They had to use their cellphone to just call out and tell them what’s going on,” Meely said.

Meely said he was disgusted by news that the team had to use cell phones, but that faulty radios were “a known issue” on the base, and that they were notorious for not being able to function properly within buildings, in addition to having batteries that could never sustain charge.

“…what could they do if the radios weren’t working?” asked Meely, adding “…that was the only way for them to call and get them some help.”

Additionally, firefighters were having the same problems with their radios. “The incident commander from Naval District Washington was not able to communicate from his position inside the building to fire units outside of the building. He was not able to communicate with his subordinate units outside of the building,” Greg Russell, president of the National Capital Federal Firefighters, said.

Although this may merely have been a technical snafu, it adds an extra layer of mystery to an already convoluted story that has only gotten stranger.

Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that alleged shooter Aaron Alexis believed people were trying to harm him with microwave radiation and had reportedly told Veterans’ Affairs physicians he was hearing voices and being followed.

On Thursday, we learned Alexis was found with firearms carved with messages, including one that read, “My E-L-F Weapon,” a message which the Washington Post wrote generally stands for “extremely low frequency,” which has led many to speculate he may have been a victim of targeted government mind control.

We also reported earlier this week that D.C.’s Containment Emergency Response Team (CERT) was mere minutes away from the shooting when it took place, yet when they arrived they were told by a commanding officer to leave the scene.

The CERT team’s leader has since been replaced and members of the team have not been questioned or debriefed as to why the stand down order was given, despite a source telling the BBC that the CERT team is typically debriefed “right away, at the very least the following day.”

I feel real sorry for the cry babies that their little radios quit working. Can't they function without a damn radio? They did not need to talk about it. The only thing they needed to do was to hunt down and shoot the psycho mass murderer. They should have only used hand signals until after they made contact and shots were fired.

Certain kinds of counter espionage equipment will do that but I would think it would also interfere with the cell phone reception.

I have a sneaking suspicion that report of the guy's complaints about electronic harassment and being stalked got circulated among law enforcement and maybe a bunch of them knew what was going on and let the guy fire the place up because there was no official way to shut it down.

Also has me wondering exactly what was being done in the offices that he attacked.

None of the SWAT team officers have yet been interviewed by officials. And the four members of the team who requested temporary leave, have not yet had it granted by the Capitol Police. They won't even let the men take their own paid leave.

Quote
Members of a Washington DC Swat team who the BBC has learned were ordered not to respond to Monday's Navy Yard shootings have yet to be contacted by the authorities.

The Capitol Police tactical response team was told by a supervisor to leave the scene instead of aiding municipal officers, sources told the BBC.

Meanwhile, the department has installed a new leader of the elite unit. No reason has been given for the decision.

Gunman Aaron Alexis killed 12 people.

The BBC has also learned that four members of the highly trained team have applied for temporary leave, as they "grapple" with the aftermath of the incident.

The Capitol Police department has not yet granted the request, nor given approval for them to use their own paid time off.

Days after the shooting, none of the officers has been questioned by officials or investigators from a special panel that was convened on Wednesday.

Quote
Navy Yard shooting timeline

8:00 (12:00 GMT): Aaron Alexis parks car in a multi-storey car park opposite Navy Yard and enters Building 197 using security pass. He moves to a fourth-floor bathroom and removes a shotgun from a bag.
8:15: Alexis leaves bathroom and begins shooting people at random in hallways and offices.
8:20: Reports surface of active shooter at Navy Yard.
8:36: A Capitol Police Cert team arrives at Navy Yard and is asked by a Metropolitan Police officer to join the search for the gunman. They are instructed by a supervisor to leave the scene.
8:50: Armed police arrive and engage Alexis, according to FBI Director James Comey. All 12 victims are believed to be already dead or dying. Running-battle with police ends in Alexis' death.
Members of the Containment and Emergency Response Team (Cert) are typically debriefed "right away, at the very least the following day" after an incident, a Capitol Police source said.

"[They] haven't even been given the courtesy of a debrief… They have not even been given an answer as to why the decision was made that they should not respond," the source added.

Another Capitol Police source close to the incident told the BBC: "No-one's talked to these officers since this happened."

On Thursday, members of the tactical unit, which has several dozen members, were told that it had a new leader, a Capitol Police source said. It is not clear why the command shake-up occurred.

Four Cert team members wearing full tactical gear and armed with HK-416 assault weapons arrived on scene at Navy Yard at 08:36 (12:36 GMT) on Monday, after reports surfaced of an active gunman at the complex at 08:20.

According to sources, an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Washington DC's main municipal force, told the Capitol Cert officers they were the only police on site equipped with long guns, and requested their help stopping the gunman.

When the Capitol Police team radioed their superiors, they were told by a watch commander to leave the scene, the BBC was told.

On Thursday, FBI Director James B Comey Jr told ABC News it took roughly half an hour for armed police to arrive and engage Alexis. All 12 victims were killed within that time.

Capitol Police sources suggest "lives may have been saved" if the Cert team had been allowed to intervene.

On Wednesday, Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine appointed a "Fact Review Team" to investigate the department's response to the Navy Yard shootings. It will report back on 21 October.

But on Thursday sources questioned the efficacy of such a panel.

They said Capitol Police officers had more confidence in the results of an independent FBI investigation which aims to uncover the facts surrounding the incident.

One officer close to the situation called the lack of communication from department leadership "unforgivable".

Ae you wondering how Aaron Alexis got a security clearance, despite a previous arrest for an incident involving a firearm? And thousands of dollars in debts?

He lied.

Quote
The Washington Navy Yard shooter lied about a previous arrest and failed to disclose thousands of dollars in debts when he applied for a security clearance in the Navy.

Then federal investigators dismissed the omissions, and made one of their own — deleting any reference to Aaron Alexis’ use of a gun in that arrest.

The gaps in his record eventually allowed him to work in the secure Navy building where he gunned down 12 workers last week, underscoring weaknesses with the clearance process that Navy officials are targeting for change....
Yeah, that was a pretty rigorous background check.
