Even if you're in your 60's or 70's there are things you can do to improve your health.
And you've heard them all before.
The main thing? DONT SMOKE.
After that, exercise. It breaks my heart to see the Walmartians on their scooters, with their ass hanging over the (already wide) seat like saddlebags. Even more so their teenage kids, who are already profoundly obese and suffering from Type-II diabetes.
Avoid carbs, especially processed grains and sugar. That includes fruit: The appropriate amount of fruit to eat a day is probably less than one serving (a serving being an apple or orange), the amount of fructose you get in a glass of 'healthy' fruit juice is enough to kill you - eventually.
Personally, my diet involves things that are green, or had a face, mostly.
Stay the hell away from anything you can't pronounce. Anything 'diet', or 'low fat' or 'low sodium' - because to create an acceptable flavor they add sweeteners.
And while an occasional drink won't kill you, if you're drinking more than one or two drinks a week, why?
