ConSigCor,
Good list of stuff to stuff into your bag.
I might add it depends on mission objective as well. Your location at the time of the need for speed.
Myself, for the everyday anytime I run errands or run around going to or from areas within an hour or so from home I pack light.....mostly.
One thing that is never not in my vehicle is a darn good first aid kit, up to and including plasma replacement IV bags. At times I have carried my o2 kit as well in the car.
However, getting back on track. I prefer a camelback with the following. 1 MRE, 3 energy bars, 1 kimber pro carry .45, 8 mags of fugly ammo, holster & mag carriers, Gerber LMF knife, 1 compact binoculars, 1 Israeli bandage, 1 kwik clot, 1 led light 200 lum, compass and last but very important....LOL toilet paper. This is all in 1 bag. It is not for a tactical engagement. It is because I am now cut off from my home area and need drop my vehicle and go on foot.
Fugly ammo = .45 bullet that opens up to 1.32"
I also keep a level 3A vest and level 4 plates in the 2 vehicles I use. Again, this is not a mission explicit load out.
This is a Awwwww shit time to go on foot right now! Kind of like the video of Reginald Denny in L.A. during the Rodney King riots who was dragged from his truck and had his skull crushed.
Bearing in mind, this does not include the CCW gear you already have on you. My goal is to escape and evade a confrontation. I will not engage unless forced to. I prefer to engage on my terms and not out of being cornered with no other options in sight.
As for clothing, I dress accordingly to the weather for our region. I once had a friend riding in my 4X4 truck in -21 degree weather. He looked at how I was dressed and said. If we get stranded, I am going to die aren't I? My answer was......Well I would try to get help to you, but you already know the answer to that one.
