People still try to push the lie that "getting off on the psych defense" is exactly just the opposite, it is the regular Justice system's entry point for indefinite detention and the far end of state sponsored forced disability through drugs and other treatment which can and does include several forms of torture.

Interestingly, the Church of Scientology is one of the leading organizations right now in exposing the abuses of the system on those things, but they don't push very hard on any particular case unless the abuses are done to one of their members, and even then their standing in the organization becomes a factor on that too. What the Scientologists have proven in past decades is that when it comes to their conflicts with government officials in that realm, they apparently know how to play and have a proven track record of using their own covert investigative techniques to ferret out abuses in the system.
