The Washington state NRA literally sold me out ten years ago and the after joining the lynch mob tried calling me for money and support in the 2008 and 2012 elections.

GOA is for real, NRA is at best, like the judenrat. I still carry my endowment membership card and hang stuff on the wall in my office that came from being a regular donor above and beyond the membership purchases, but when push comes to shove, they are just the designated surrender agent. I will tell everyone that too, and as yet no official from the NRA will speak up to dispute it as soon as they figure out who I really am. Threatening my life in private, of course. Public debate or discussion, fat chance.

They serve a purpose for the general public to an extent, but don't trust them for anything serious. This is not the NRA of 30 years ago prior to the split that created GOA.
