I am actually going back to college to be a school counselor... I mentioned this (changes in new DSM-V) to a professor... His comment back was that "it's ment to be this way because insurance will not cover counseling with out a diagnosis... It allows EVERYONE to be diagnosed with something"

I pointed out how this was unethical (insurance fraud) and dangerous as having a faux diagnosis on your record could disqualify one from a job, promotion or possible gun ownership. He insisted this was an exaggerated fear, and that fewer guns would be a good thing.

It was hard to drop it, but conservatives in higher education are formally closeted and forced to at least appear to step in line.
