I would point to an old policy of the JDL which got Irv Rubin in hot water with a few factions at the FBI.

He said that the Feds had infiltrated most of the anti-Jewish groups and if anybody carried out a successful attack on his people and his people could get their hands on and interrogate a known attacking terrorist, they would squeeze the organization for the identities of any government handlers or agents within the attacking organization, then pick those guys up and torture the hell out of them for operations information and their chain of command.

Shortly after 9/11 he was arrested in connection with a revenge plot against Arab associated targets in the USA. Claiming the jihadis had already infiltrated much of the government too, so part of his target list included politicians he said actually worked for the Saudis... Most of the JDL leadership were killed off prior to the start of the Obama campaign in 2008.
