Explosives sent to Barack Obama, Hillary Clintonby Dominick Mastrangelo | October 24, 2018 Explosive devices were reportedly mailed to both former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The package sent to Clinton was found outside her home in a New York City suburb by a technician Wednesday, the New York Times reports. According to NY1, the package, identified as an improvised explosive device, was discovered around 1 a.m. The Times reported a separate package was sent to the office of Obama, but was intercepted by the Secret Service in Washington, D.C. The FBI and Secret Service are investigating. In a tweet, The FBI declined comment, citing an "ongoing investigation." We are aware of a suspicious package found in the vicinity of the Clinton residence in Chappaqua, NY, and our JTTF has engaged with our federal, state and local partners to investigate. As this is an on-going investigation, we will have no further comment at this time — FBI New York (@NewYorkFBI) October 24, 2018 The incidents come one day after an explosive device was found near the home of left-wing billionaire George Soros. Authorities say they believe that device, which was described as a pipe bomb, was left outside Soros' home and not delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, the Times reports. In a statement the Secret Service said the packages sent to Obama and Clinton were "potentially explosive." The Secret Service also said it has initiated a full-scope investigation that "will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible." This congressional candidate is earning her nickname, "Occasional Cortex." Granted, it was wrong to send George Soros a bomb. But to label Soros as a Holocaust survivor is just plain bizarre. Onward and upward, airforce

Could be a liberal sending these non-functioning bombs to make conservatives look bad.

...it was wrong to send George Soros a bomb. Wrong? It would be poetic justice if someone borrowed a Stuka and dive bombed the Judenrat.

Any bets the Democraps did it on purpose? I wonder what poor loser they are going to hang it on? Could be a liberal sending these non-functioning bombs to make conservatives look bad. I wouldn't be surprised at all. This kind of thing is right out of the socialist playbook. [quote] ...Wrong?
It would be poetic justice if someone borrowed a Stuka and dive bombed the Judenrat. Poetic justice, yes. But it wouldn't make us look good, and certainly not two weeks before the elections. Why give the Left any more ammunition? Onward and upward, airforce

Heard Savage say a few minutes ago that CNN and mad Maxine have now received a bomb; for a total of 6 devices
I don't doubt that a democrap operative is doing this. But either way, what do they expect after inciting people to commit violence for over 2 years.
Funny when it happens to them they call for "immediate action to stop these acts of terrorism". But they didn't care when a republican was shot or Rand Paul was attacked.

...Funny when it happens to them they call for "immediate action to stop these acts of terrorism". But they didn't care when a republican was shot or Rand Paul was attacked. You noticed that too, eh? Everybody in Washington is reporting "suspicious packages" now. Some of this is reasonable caution, and I suspect some of it is for political gain. Authorities are investigating multiple reports of explosive packages sent to the offices or homes of several public figures, as well as the news outlet CNN.
WABC reports an explosive device was discovered in the middle of the night near the home of former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton. The device, which was screened by the Secret Service, was addressed to Hillary Clinton, who was not at the couple's home in Chappaqua, New York, at the time. A source familiar with Bill Clinton's location told CNN the former president was home, though the device never made it there.
Also this morning, the Secret Service said it intercepted an explosive device addressed to former President Barack Obama. He was probably never in danger, as the Secret Service screens his packages from a facility in Washington, D.C., according to The New York Times.
Another suspicious package with an explosive device in it was sent to CNN's offices at the Time Warner Center in New York City. A police bomb squad was deployed to the scene, and the newsroom had to be evacuated, according to the Associated Press. CNN reported that the package was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan. The network's president, Jeff Zucker, said in a statement that employees should "refrain from sharing any images or geo tags that would reveal" their locations. "We have no particular reason to be concerned, but just think it would be the most cautious approach," he said.
Police were soon able to remove the device from the area. Later, New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill said the package in question contained what "appeared to be a live explosive device" and "an envelope containing white powder."
Florida police, meanwhile, are investigating a suspicious package sent to the Sunrise, Florida, office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (R–Fla.), former chair of the Democratic National Committee.
The cluster of bomb threats comes one day after another explosive device was found outside the compound of liberal megadonor George Soros in Westchester County, New York.
According to CNN, which cited a law enforcement official, the devices sent to the media outlet, the Clintons, the Obamas, and Soros are similar to each other. Also, Wasserman Schultz was named on the return address for the Clinton and Obama packages. The package sent to Wasserman Schultz's Sunrise office was supposed to go to former Attorney General Eric Holder. But the address was wrong, and since the Florida congresswoman's name was on the return address, it ended going to her office.
Moreover, Capitol Police were able to identify a package addressed to Rep. Maxine Waters (D–Calif.), ABC's Tara Palmeri reported this afternoon, citing three sources.
The San Diego Union-Tribune also said several suspicious packages were found the newspaper's offices, leading to an evacuation of the building. The packages turned out to be harmless, police said.
There were initial reports that additional explosive devices had been found that were addressed to the White House and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Both reports appear to have been untrue. At a press conference, though, Cuomo confirmed that a suspicious package was indeed sent to his Manhattan office. According to Rich Azzopardi, the governor's senior deputy communications director, the initial report was in fact false, but a suspicious package was discovered later on. That package, however, reportedly contained campaign literature, not a bomb. Onward and upward, airforce

The pipe bomb and white powder sent to CNN were harmless. This is looking more and more like a hoax or "false flag" operation. The pipe bomb and white powder that forced an evacuation at CNN headquarters in New York City Wednesday morning were harmless, a law enforcement source told the Associated Press.
The purported explosive device was similar in construction to those sent Wednesday to former President Barack Obama, former attorney general Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D., Fla.), and Representative Maxine Waters of California. A package containing white powder was delivered later in the day.
The NYPD said the explosive devices were live during a Wednesday afternoon press conference but subsequent reporting suggests they were not functional.
All of the devices carried a parody ISIS flag featuring comedian Larry the Cable Guy’s signature slogan, “git ‘er done,” NBC News reported late Wednesday.
The most recent wave of potential bombings came two days after billionaire liberal activist George Soros received an explosive device in the mail, which police later detonated. The package left in CNN’s mailroom was addressed to former CIA director John Brennan, who frequently appears on the network.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo said during a Wednesday press conference that his office received an explosive device but the NYPD later revealed the package in question actually contained a letter and a flash drive.
President Trump called the spate of attacks “despicable” in a Wednesday statement.
“In these times we have to unify,” he said. “We have to come together and send one very clear, strong unmistakeable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America.”
“As we speak, the packages are being inspected by top explosive experts and a major federal investigation is now underway,” he added. Onward and upward, airforce

Fmr FBI Asst. Director: Bomb Plot Culprit ‘Could Be Someone Who Is Trying to Get The Democratic Vote Out And Incur Sympathy’
"They're going to be looking at this as a potential terrorist motive, whether it's on one side or the other."
By Chris Menahan | Information Liberation Thursday, October 25, 2018
Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker on Wednesday said investigators are going to consider all possibilities when it comes to determining the motive of the culprit who sent suspected explosive devices to the Clintons, Obama and potentially others.
“We’re already seeing a little bit of a pattern,” Swecker told Fox News on Wednesday. “They’re going to be looking at this as a potential terrorist motive, whether it’s on one side or the other.”
Fmr FBI Asst. Director Chris Swecker says bomb plot culprit “could be someone who is trying to get the Democratic vote out and incur sympathy.”
“This doesn’t necessarily mean someone is espousing some sort of conservative ideology and targeting Democrats.” pic.twitter.com/b82iKDzEb4
— Chris Menahan 🔹 (@infolibnews) October 24, 2018
“And as you correctly pointed out earlier,” he told Fox News host Harris Faulkner. “This doesn’t necessarily mean someone is espousing some sort of conservative ideology and targeting Democrats.”
“It could be someone who is trying to get the Democratic vote out and incur sympathy,” Swecker said. “It could go either way.”

This is the fake "ISIS" sticker that is on the bomb sent to John Brennan at CNN: If you get a package with six Forever stamps on it, and a return address of "DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ" (you would think they would spell her last name right), don't open it. It contains a pipe bomb - apparently with wires protruding from [b]both ends[/b - wrapped in bubble wrap. Onward and upward, airforce

Air Force, I voted in the Dem primary in '16 just to vote against Hillary. Voted libertarian in the general. Will vote Republican this time. If VA reqd party membership to vote in a primary my record would be all over the place. Could be something like that.

More details about the suspect. “He Was Crazed”: What We Know ...was something really off with him."The Daily Mail and other outlets have reported the suspected package bomber as being named Cesar Altier Sayoc, but his Facebook page says, Cesar Altieri Randazzo.
Also, in a screenshot taken from a video he posted to Facebook before his page was taken down, the local news identified him as Ceaser Uyoc.
While the suspect’s social media accounts show support for Trump and conservative ideology, it wouldn’t make sense for a Trump supporter to cause mayhem before a major midterm election when it’s obvious Republicans would be blamed.

Six degrees of separation? The bomber threatened to kill George Mason law professor Ilya Somin last year.Yesterday, federal authorities arrested Cesar Altieri Sayoc, the far-right Trump supporter suspected of mailing bombs to prominent liberal Democratic opponents of Trump. To my surprise, an acquaintance soon pointed out to me that Sayoc is likely the same man who made a death threat against me on Facebook in April of last year. After I did an interview on Fox News about the ways in which public ignorance contributes to opposition to immigration, a person using the name "Cesar Altieri Randazzo" made multiple comments on one of my FB posts, threatening to kill me and my family, and feed the bodies to Florida alligators. The comments even included multiple pictures of alligators. If you think the alligator part is somehow humorous, that may be understandable. But I suspect you would not be laughing so hard if you were the target.
The authorities have now connected the Randazzo Facebook account to Sayoc. And his threats against me were very similar to ones he made on Twitter against political commentator Rochelle Ritchie. In both cases, for example, he claimed to to be a member of the "unconquered Seminole Nation."
In my anger and revulsion at the time, I deleted the threatening comments (in retrospect, a mistake on my part). The "Randazzo" Facebook account now seems to be gone. But many of my Facebook friends saw the the threats, and at least a couple reported them to Facebook as a violation of their policies. Unfortunately, FB did nothing but send back automated form messages [NOTE: but see exception described in my update below]. I also reported the incident to Arlington, Virginia law enforcement and the George Mason University police (at the school where I teach). In case either media or federal law enforcement authorities are interested, I can provide documentation of all of the above, if necessary. It seems to me there is likely already more than enough evidence to convict Sayoc of multiple crimes. Nonetheless, I plan to reach out to the FBI in case my account might prove useful to them.
Sadly, social media and e-mail threats to commentators on political issues are all too common. This was not the first time I got one, and I know other writers who have had far worse experiences, some of which make mine pale by comparison. What, if anything, can be learned from incidents like this? I don't have any definitive solution to the problem. But here are a few tentative thoughts:
First, most such threats are probably meant to intimidate and inflict psychological pain. They are a kind of "troll tax" on public commentary the perpetrators disapprove of. It is, therefore, important that we not allow ourselves to be intimidated. To give in would only encourage more such behavior. For what it is worth, I have continued to write and speak about immigration and public ignorance over the last year, and I have no plans to stop.
Second, social media firms should do more to bar death threats on their sites. In principle, they are already against the rules of Facebook and Twitter. But, too often, nothing is done when such incidents are reported. That is exactly what happened in both my case with Facebook and Rochelle Ritchie's with Twitter. As a general rule, I am not one to join in the currently fashionable trend of beating up on Facebook. They provide an enormously valuable service at virtually no cost to consumers. And I recognize that it is difficult to come up with content standards that are fair to millions of users with highly diverse views. But barring death threats should be a relatively easy case. To put it mildly, they contribute little, if anything, to public discourse. And their prevalence causes fairly obvious harm, and poisons the atmosphere even in cases (which, fortunately, are the vast majority) where the perpetrators have no real intention of making good on their threats.
Finally, we do not yet know to what extent, if any, Sayoc's actions were inspired by Donald Trump's repeated statements condoning violence against his opponents and members of the media. It is entirely possible that Sayoc is the sort of person who would be prone to violence regardless. Nonetheless, here, as elsewhere, Trump's egregious violations of basic liberal democratic norms are deeply reprehensible, and he should be made to pay a high political price for them, lest other political leaders be emboldened to follow in his footsteps.
UPDATE: One of my Facebook friends points out to me that FB did remove one of the photos posted by "Randazzo" in response to her complaint about it. I was not aware of this before, and am happy to note it now. But most of his threatening comments (including even others that this particular FB friend reported) remained in place until I deleted them myself. Back when I was a corrections officer at the county jail, it was a rare day when at least one person didn't threaten to kill me. But I'm a little bit different than a George Mason law professor - and I live somewhere where I can carry a gun than I know how to use. And for the record, we will not tolerate these kinds of threats here at AWRM. Onward and upward, airforce
