American equipment was in fact greatly advantageous in Afghanistan, offering force multipliers rendering the trigger puller far more effective than he otherwise would have been. The problem was leadership which was worse than useless. Our forces being directed to pursue the enemy into obvious ambushes, to establish outposts where the enemy will have an undefended high-ground with which to attack it, to not provide support to other pinned down elements, to ignore known Chinese owned structures with communications arrays mounted on the roof, to ignore all intelligence indicating Chinese support to the enemy, and so forth.


Some Americans have superior training and equipment than some Taliban. Some Hadji had superior training and equipment than most American military, including optics so expensive that most American civilians likely couldn’t afford them, let alone should an Afghani tribesman be able to.


Never the less, those leftists did pursue Rittenhouse, likely intended to severely harm or kill him, and did pursue that objective while unarmed and while their target was known to be armed. It would be a mistake to underestimate the motivation of the leftwing extremist. They are very confident in groups and are prone to irrationality and delusion. As a consequence, they don’t believe any significant harm will come to them when acting as a group until they see evidence to the contrary and have processed that evidence. They perceive themselves as invulnerable prior to that point.


Soldiers are conditioned to blindly follow orders. The more green the soldier, the more recent the indoctrination and the more likely the soldier will comply unquestioningly. The information available to the soldier can also be easily controlled by the government, ensuring the mind of the soldier is sufficiently molded by state propaganda and that the soldier’s understanding of the situation perfectly meets the state’s narrative. American soldiers ceased firearms from and forcefully relocated Americans in New Orleans after Katrina, they imprisoned Japanese-Americans in internment camps during WW2, they attacked their fellow veterans for (actually) peacefully protesting the government following WW1, and they participated in sieges against American civilians at Waco and Ruby Ridge. As far as police go, they will put you in a cage and ruin your life for smoking particular plants, and myriad other tyrannical actions in response to victimless crimes. If there’s one thing you can count on a soldier doing, it’s following orders. If there’s one thing you can count on a policeman doing, it’s enforcing the law. While I expect a small fraction of both groups wouldn’t comply, you would be wise to not expect any member of either group to be friendly. If the government has directed the police and/or military against you, any that you encounter will almost certainly be hostile.

After all, what principled, honorable, decent person would allow themselves to become instruments of totalitarian oppression and “fight against their own people” instead of immediately and without reservation aggressively pursuing the arrest/neutralization of these criminals/traitors? If a soldier/policeman has even the slightest morale character, they would at very least immediately tear off their uniform and desert/resign. One cannot willfully participate in evil, and not be evil. Under such circumstances, those who still wear the uniform and contribute to such profound tyranny, directly or indirectly, are quislings and collaborators, and are in fact the enemy of the people.
