I am about to enter graduate school and live in an apartment. There will be limited space and no storage other than the room I have. I have read numerous articles on 72 hour kits 7 day kits and so on. I have also read numerous post and the NMS for advice on gear. My question, to someone who has or is in a small apartment or anyone, what basic basic supplies should I make sure to lay up. Thank you all in advance.

I live at home, I still go to high school, but my own stocking up has a 72hr kit, couple hundred rounds of ammo, and lots and lots of water. My room is about 20ft by 12 feet, and I keep all this in my closet. I've also got my BDU's in the closet, and I've got helmets on top of shelves as decoration.
I also have glass bottles on the shelves, and a WW2 japanese ammo can, which I plan on putting ammo in.
These things pretty much pass as decoration, and don't take up much room.
The 5.56 and .40 don't take up much room, I could stick em in a drawer in my room, but my parents said they'd rather keep it in their closet.
So...
Keep food, water, ammo, and some medical/first aid stuff. You can easily keep it in ways or places that don't look like much.

My question, to someone who has or is in a small apartment or anyone, what basic basic supplies should I make sure to lay up.
*Buy one of those heavy plastic foot lockers.

*Buy a case of MRE's

*Look over the Level 1 and 2 gear list from the NMS. Tailor it to fit your situation. Concentrate on survival supplies and load bearing gear that will enable you to E and E. Don't worry about cammo. Since you're in a urban environment, use street clothes that will enable you to blend in. Pack the survival gear in a BOB and store this equipment in the foot locker so it will be ready to go.

*Next add a rifle and handgun...plus 500 rounds for the rifle and 100 for the handgun.

*Come up with a viable Evacuation Plan that includes a couple of Safe Houses.

*Create and implement an Emergency Communications Plan, so that you can maintain contact with trusted friends, family and team members during and emergency. This should include a Phone Tree and some type of radio gear such as 2 meter VHF.

ConSigCor I am lucky to be attending graduate school in a more rural environment (outskirts of Johnson City TN). I have made a 1'x1'x3' footlocker out of plywood with compartments. Problem I face like many patriots in certain area there are not groups. I have friend around here and I begun to look at groups around TN. Gun and ammo were obvious. Thanks.

Johnson City. What outskirts??? Piney Flats? Gray?

If I snease, I'll hit you. There are people around...they just don't advertise.

I understand not advertising. The way the media likes to portray the militia you would think we are all skin heads looking to return to Nazi Germany. The zip code is still Johnson City but it is off of 26 between the highway and the Elizabethton Golf Course. Ariel photos show the area is nicely wooded. I am still finding information on the area: population density, close nation forests, etc.

Have family in the immediate area. Not too far away from you myself, south of the Nolachucky.
