i own 6 acres in the country in northern MS. i'm on local water but would like to drill a water well for "just in case". does anyone have an idea as to what kind i should do or how much it would cost? i don't need it to be hooked up to the house so maybe a hand pump well would work. need some input please.thanks

Cheapest solution is to either pound a well with a sand point, or next cheapest is to get a Deep Rock machine and drill one yourself.

I drilled a well back in pre-Y2k days for a friend. Took us 12 hours to drill and ream out a well thru 33 feet of granite.
