...but with asset forfeiture provisions thrown in. After all, what's the point of passing a new law if you can't take steal (er, "seize") their property?

Quote
Not to be outdone by Arizona, some conservative lawmakers in Oklahoma say they plan to introduce a bill similar to that state's controversial new immigration law.

Republican state Rep. Randy Terrill said Thursday that there are several bills that could be amended to insert the new language.

Arizona's law directs local police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal. Two lawsuits have already been filed challenging it.

Terrill says the Oklahoma bill would also likely include asset seizure and forfeiture provisions for immigration-related crimes and harsher penalties for illegal immigrants caught with guns.

Civil rights groups in Oklahoma said the plan would encourage racial profiling.
Onward and upward,

The lefties always use the excuse of "racial profiling" to prevent just enforcement of our national borders.
