This is a truly insightful article. Some of us already know some of the content of this article, but this author's conclusions set this one apart from others I've seen. I doubt it will happen, but it's good input for pondering. Also, this is a good article to pass on to others.

Step 1: Demonizing the Enemy

War is always sold by artificially demonizing the enemy.

Countries need to lie about their enemies in order to demonize them sufficiently so that the people will support the war.

Everyone knows that “truth is the first casualty of war“.

As Tom Brokaw said:

All wars are based on propaganda.

Posters prepared in foreign countries demonizing Americans are an obvious form of propaganda. For example, here are samples from Nazi Germany:

I do not subscribe to the use of the fasces symbol as representative that the US is a facist country.

The fasces symbol goes back to the Roman empire and was a symbol of the authority of the magistrate and represented strength through unity.
