“The IC assesses that domestic violent extremists (DVEs) who are motivated by a range of ideologies and galvanized by recent political and societal events in the United States pose an elevated threat to the Homeland in 2021. Enduring DVE motivations pertaining to biases against minority populations and perceived government overreach will almost certainly continue to drive DVE radicalization and mobilization to violence. Newer sociopolitical developments — such as narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the US Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories promoting violence — will almost certainly spur some DVEs to try to engage in violence this year ... The IC assesses that racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (RMVEs) and militia violent extremists (MVEs) present the most lethal DVE threats, with RMVEs most likely to conduct mass-casualty attacks against civilians and MVEs typically targeting law enforcement and government personnel and facilities. The IC assesses that the MVE threat increased last year and that it will almost certainly continue to be elevated throughout 2021 because of contentious sociopolitical factors that motivate MVEs to commit violence ... DVEs with ideological agendas derived from anti-governmentor anti-authority sentiment including opposition to perceived economic social, or racial hierarchies; or perceived government overreach, negligence, or illegitimacy ... MILITIA VIOLENT EXTREMISTS: DVEs who take overt steps to violently resist or facilitate the overthrow of the US Government in support of their belief that the US Government is purposely exceeding its Constitutional authority and is trying to establish a totalitarian regime; oppose many federal and state laws and regulations particularly those related to firearms ownership.”

USIC indicates that it assess racists and militiamen to be the greatest domestic terror threats within the United States. I note this assessment concentrates more so on the militiaman than the racist, indicating USIC perceives the militiaman to be the chief domestic terror threat. Given the lack of emphasis on the high intensity campaign of left-wing extremism (Lx) spanning more than a year, where such organizations have perpetrated and continue to perpetrate politically and racially motivated violence, profound destruction as well as economic and social disruption, given the government efforts to purge individuals from its ranks who oppose the Lx ideology, and given the indoctrination taking place within the government and elsewhere within American society, it’s likely that current USIC analysts tend to be biased in favor of the Lx ideology. Bias, when unchecked, presents the risk of intelligence failures, as analysis becomes irrational and incorrect. USIC’s perception of a separation between racists and militiamen is highly likely to become increasingly fuzzy with time, leading to such a circumstance as USIC appearing to engage in propaganda intended to erode the reputations of its non-Lx ideological adversaries by arguing the militiaman is necessarily racist. Given that USIC appears to perceive militiamen as the chief domestic threat, I think it likely this would be a blunder, leading to redirecting government resources away from militiamen and toward actual white supremacists as a result of associating the two. There are very few positive aspects of the government choosing militiamen as its chief target, but at least USIC’s bias is likely to lead to a reduction in the pressure the government will ultimately exert on militiamen overall.

This is why I always admired the founding principles of the III% as expressed by one of that movement’s early founders the now late Mike Vanderboegh.

Whenever people (typically RINOS) would spout off to me about “these radical anti government loons”… I would refer them to this, then point out that the people they are hearing about are not part of the movement as they are violating its core principles, or they are undercover informants there to discredit it.
