For more than two years, I’ve told you how the Big Tech cabal has been killing WND.

I wish I could tell you that things were getting much better, though if anything, I have downplayed the crisis.

Nevertheless, as you’ll see below, I can share one really hopeful development that could make a big difference in our future.

As you may know, for more than 22 years WND has blazed the trail in independent online journalism.

We were the first to enter the playing field in 1997.
We were the first to begin publishing books – many of them best-sellers.
We were the first to begin making documentary films – some of them best-sellers.
We were the first to incorporate a Judeo-Christian worldview into our reporting, books and movies.
We were the first to be approved to cover the White House and the Congress.

But, as I’ve told you, beginning in January 2017, with the inauguration of President Donald Trump, Big Tech declared war on us and the rest of the independent media it blamed for his victory in 2016. They haven’t forgiven us.

And their assault on independent media goes far beyond just censoring, shadow-banning and rigging search results against us. They’ve destroyed the essential advertising-based business model of online news.

Recently, as revenues have continued to plummet because of the Google-Facebook hammerlock on 80 percent of digital advertising, we have had to stop publishing books. We have had to stop making movies. And we have had to appeal to readers for donations just to continue to report and publish the news.

Worse yet, there is no end in sight. There are only three forces on Earth powerful enough to take on this hateful, un-American, left-wing, anti-God monopoly – this new Tower of Babel. Those three forces are God, the U.S. government and you, the American people.

I pray every day for relief. God has provided us with daily bread as He has promised. Government has held lots of hearings but, in the end, done nothing. And you have answered the call every time we have asked.

Still, it’s been a nightmare for us.

We’ve lost 80 percent of our revenues since 2017. We are essentially operating on fumes.

If WND means something special to you, we continue to need your prayers and your financial blessings. Facebook Bans Zero Hedge From Platform In Continued Purge Against Real News

Popular guerrilla news outlet marked as 'spam' that violates 'community standards'

Facebook suddenly blocked the sharing of Zero Hedge articles on its platform Monday, claiming the outlet violates its community standards.

When a Zero Hedge article is linked on Facebook, instead of showing the content, a message pops up saying: “the link you tried to visit goes against our community standards.”

It’s unclear why Facebook decided to mark Zero Hedge as spam, as the platform has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

It’s possible Facebook has simply determined that Zero Hedge must be silenced due to its relentless coverage of Facebook’s many problems, including privacy violations, mass abandonment by younger users, systematic censorship, and shady government cooperation.

The move is nonetheless significant: even Infowars content can still be shared on Facebook despite being banned by nearly all major social media platforms, including Facebook.

Some of you have known me and my work over the last 20+ years, ever since I founded the first independent online news-gathering company back in 1997 – WorldNetDaily.com, known more recently as WND.com.

Drudge and WND literally started it all more than 22 years ago.

WND branched out into book publishing and movie-making over the years, but the focus of our business, which made more than $150 million dollars in revenues, was NEWS – real news, truthful news, professional news – just as I did it for the previous 20 years in the euphemistically called “mainstream media,” working as a journalist in the New York market and running daily newspapers in other major markets like Sacramento and Los Angeles.

For 20 years that experiment became so successful that WND inspired other alternative “New Media” sites like Breitbart, the Daily Caller and others. It was never easy doing what we in the alternative free media had to do. It was always an uphill fight, with lots of opposition. But we can pinpoint the specific month when the crisis of fake news came to a head, when the monopoly power-brokers like Google and Facebook literally declared war on the independent media – indeed, a war on free speech, the free press, even freedom of religion and free elections. That was January 2017.

What am I talking about?

I’m talking about real “collusion” – and having nothing to do with Russia. The real crime against America’s most vital institutions of political freedom came from within. The crime is even bigger than the Deep State’s hideous attacks, first on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, and then its ongoing efforts to overthrow the 2016 election. That’s why you haven’t heard much about it. Few in the public have any idea what really happened – and what is still going on.

There’s an old expression going back at least to the Watergate days: “The cover-up is always worse than the crime.”

And that’s what nearly everyone is missing. The cover-up is far, far bigger than almost anyone understands. Yes, it involves rogue actors within the FBI and Justice Department, a failed presidential candidate and the former administration. That’s what we hear about exclusively on Fox News and in the independent media. But, there’s also a powerful unseen hand at work – a cabal of corporate collaborators who not only conspired to rig elections in 2016 and 2018, but are, right now, working furiously on manipulating the results in 2020.

So, who is responsible for the massive cover-up of how freedom in America is under attack?

It’s not just those you think of as the “fake news” media. They could never do it by themselves – even with the hammerlock control they have at ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post and virtually the entire “mainstream” news apparatus. They are simply not that persuasive. They can’t fool all of the people even in their wiliest moments. But the powerful unseen hand can, does and did.

I’ve already told you who they are – this cartel that immensely extends the influence of the hopelessly biased media and powerfully influences the political opinions and views of the American people, without most of us ever even knowing.

That’s what Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Amazon and Apple can do that no other force on the planet can do. And it’s because they have all your data – more than the NSA and CIA combined. They have the knowhow and algorithms to influence, even change, the way you think about virtually everything and to manipulate massive blocks of Americans without their ever suspecting a thing.

Hard to believe?

For me, too. It’s downright scary. But it’s a fact of life that could literally create a quiet revolution, a silent coup, in America as soon as 2020. It has already experienced profound success.

Have you wondered why America is hurtling toward socialism? Have you asked yourself why Americans are embracing speech codes, turning away from freedom at every turn, adopting group-think – all at warp speed? Is your head spinning from the social and political upheaval and division we’re seeing in the USA?

There has never been a force like the combined power of Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Amazon and Apple in the world before – at least not since the Tower of Babel. It would take a book to explain the imminent threat these companies represent to American freedom. They don’t even need to conspire together because they all share a common worldview.

Think about it. They all have one common partner they support with money, credibility and influence – a hateful leftist organization called the Southern Poverty Law Center. If you know anything about this detestable group that routinely smears conservatives, Christians, Republicans and, most of all, Donald Trump, ask yourself this: Is it a coincidence that Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Amazon and Apple all just happened to partner with, confer with, empower and elevate as content cops the radicals at the SPLC? It would seem to defy chance. But it illustrates my point that these pampered, elite, monopoly corporations all have a common agenda – radicalizing America from inside out.

I know this is quite a story. It may even sound a little crazy, paranoid, like some conspiracy theory. But I am convinced this may be the biggest imminent threat to America’s freedom our nation faces. There are others talking about it, reporting on it, but it’s simply not on the radar of our leaders in Washington who need to act decisively.

I’ve done the best I can to raise this issue since January 2017. That’s the date I realized everything had changed. It’s the date this cartel started targeting individuals, organizations and companies that were perceived as helping Trump win the 2016 election.

That election’s outcome was a shocker for the leftist Big Tech Machine, just as it was for the Deep State. They decided they could never let that happen again. But while the Deep State has been exposed, at least in part, the Big Tech Machine has not. And that’s why it is as dangerous as ever.

As I said, everything changed for the independent media beginning in January 2017. It was like a category 5 hurricane that hit WND and the entire independent media. That’s clearly when Google-Facebook declared open warfare on us, going after our traffic, our advertising and our reputations. You’ve heard how they have gone after conservatives, Christians, Republicans and, most of all, anyone who has defended Trump or treated him fairly.

Two years of Google-Facebook’s scorched-earth campaign against us has taken an unbelievable toll.

Our revenues in January 2017 were a staggering 500 percent higher!

That’s why we have been forced to take radical action just to survive.

Google-Facebook, which together controls 80 percent of the digital advertising market, is out to destroy WND and the rest of the independent media. And they will – unless our supporters and subscribers surround us in prayer and sustain us with financial contributions immediately and for the long term. This is not a short-term crisis. Google-Facebook have made it close to impossible for companies like WND to survive in the online world they control.

Yet, ironically, our voice is needed more than ever in a world caving and capitulating to these power brokers.

The Democratic Party – whose presidential candidates proudly advocate allowing convicted mass-murdering terrorists to vote, destroying America’s oil, gas and coal industries, ending private insurance, killing babies after they’re born, inviting never-ending hordes of illegal aliens to invade our country, and imposing socialism on the most successful free-market nation in history – could win the presidency and Congress next year.

How is that possible?

How could such an obviously lunatic – and catastrophic – worldview prevail in the United States of America, you ask?

There are several reasons, but let’s start with a big one: Lies take hold in the absence of truth, and the left is now deeply engaged in a campaign to eliminate truthful free speech and a free press in our beloved country.

I’m talking about the ongoing censorship and predatory monopolistic suppression of truth-oriented journalism.

You no doubt are already somewhat familiar with this. Every day, it seems, Facebook or Twitter or YouTube has banned or suspended or demonetized yet another conservative, Republican or Christian.

But the problem goes way beyond that.

The left in America – with its increasingly blatant totalitarian tendencies – already dominates most of our nation’s major institutions, from our colleges and universities, to today’s Democratic Party, to Hollywood, to the “mainstream media.” Well, now the same “progressive” left has succeeded in taking over yet another gigantic institution: the internet.

Although WND has published many stories over the last year and a half exposing Google, Facebook and the other tech giants’ campaign to extinguish free speech and independent journalism, we probably understated the problem.

As the original online journalism organization, going way back to 1997, WorldNetDaily – like other independent news enterprises – has been enduring a powerful, concerted, multi-pronged attack.

First, there’s the all-out assault on our operating revenues.

“Journalism, sustained by traditional advertising, is dying,” confirms the respected Washington, D.C.-based Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC. In the research center’s recent written testimony to Congress’s Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, EPIC summarized its findings starkly: “Two companies [Google and Facebook] dominate the market. The privacy of internet users is under assault. The revenue model that sustained journalism is broken. The ad platforms are manipulated by foreign adversaries. Secrecy and complexity are increasing as accountability is diminished.”

To understand exactly how the “Digital Cartel” has managed to wreak so much havoc, read EPIC’s letter to Congress here.

Bear in mind that what enabled Google and Facebook to accomplish this – to essentially steal the life-sustaining advertising revenues from WND and other online news organizations – is their scandalous practice of invading your privacy and harvesting and monetizing your private, personal information. Totally unrepentant over this, Facebook is now going after your bank account.

But vanishing revenues are just part of the problem.

While Google and Facebook vacuum up four-fifths of all digital advertising, thereby depriving news sites like ours of their traditional lifeblood, these same mega-companies are simultaneously censoring, suppressing and “shadow-banning” independent, right-of-center news and opinion sources. It is now utterly indisputable that the Internet gatekeepers’ leftwing bias is fully baked into their algorithms. That is why – in an era when the Trump economy is expanding, with manufacturing finally returning to the U.S. and employment at record highs – for the past two years it has been mostly stories claiming Trump is a traitorous Russian double-agent that have populated the Google or Facebook news feeds where tens of millions congregate to get their “news.”

Worse, you’ve no doubt heard that many of these Internet mega-companies now rely on the same corrupt hate group, the Southern Poverty Law Center, as their go-to expert on whom to discriminate against as purveyors of “hate speech.” (This, even though the SPLC’s top leaders have recently been ousted amid revelations of internal racial and sexual harassment!) The SPLC is best known for its “hate group” lists where it delights in lumping together genuinely honorable Christian/conservative organizations – like the American Family Association, Liberty Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom, the Family Research Council and yours truly, WND – with actual hate groups like the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations and the Westboro Baptist Church.

WorldNetDaily has long been featured on the SPLC’s ridiculous “hate/extremist” label. And since the Southern Poverty Law Center now determines what is “hate speech” or “fake news” for Google, Facebook and others, is it any wonder that these days, WND rarely shows up on a Google search unless you specify “WND” in your search, or else enter the exact WND headline?

There is much more going on, but hopefully it is now absolutely clear to you that, in a multitude of ways, the leftwing appropriation of the Internet is intent on accomplishing what it already has in America’s universities, popular culture, Democratic Party and establishment press. That is, to take it over, impose politically correct speech (and therefore thought) codes, and suppress dissident voices – in this case, making it extremely difficult for journalists animated by American, constitutional, biblical, commonsense values to do their job of digging out the truth and reporting it to you.

So, what does the future hold for WND and other independent media?

It’s no secret that WND has been severely impacted by this ongoing assault and is having to reinvent itself in many ways, from painful cost reductions including layoffs and pay-cuts, to optimizing remaining revenue sources, to inventing new and outside-the-box strategies in every part of our company.

Is there hope? Well, consider this.

Revered economist and technology futurist George Gilder, in his new book “Life After Google: The Fall of Big Data and the Rise of the Blockchain Economy,” predicts Google will one day come to an end. Why? Because, says Gilder, at root Google’s “philosophy attempts to lay an axe to the root of human creativity, free will and man’s uniqueness as created in God’s image.”

Let me explain. Gilder, whose track record of anticipating future technology trends is impeccable, predicts that today’s extreme centralization of data, power and wealth will one day give way to a new age of decentralization, restored privacy and individual empowerment. That would mean Google-Facebook’s predatory monopolistic destruction of competitors, wanton invasion of privacy and ideological censorship also come to an end.

However, there’s a catch. Key to that better future, says Gilder, is understanding that the whole idea of “free” is an illusion. As we all have recently learned, when we access Facebook and Google for “free,” it’s only because it turns out we are the product being sold! In place of “free” services that exploit, monetize and censor us, says Gilder, new developments like blockchain technology, cryptocurrency and micropayments will one day play a crucial role in keeping the public square of information open, decentralized, healthy and thriving.

If all this still sounds a bit esoteric, let’s boil it down to its essence: Only one thing is immune to Google/Facebook’s censoring, stifling, starving and shadow-banning independent, pro-American news and analysis like WND. Only one thing can counteract Amazon sucking up all the ecommerce and crippling everyone else.

That one thing that trumps all the predatory business practices, censorship and utopian fantasies of the current Internet gatekeepers is the creativity and goodness of real people acting under the inspiration of Almighty God. Arrogant, wealthy mega-companies cannot interfere with genuine virtue and generosity working through human beings committed to helping each other.

We at WND would love nothing more than to be able to continue working our hearts out doing what we’ve been doing for you for the past 22 years. If you agree, help us. It’s just as simple as that.

The Digital Cartel – and for that matter, the rest of the dark forces of this world – cannot destroy an honorable relationship between you and us. We give to you, and you give back to us. There is no “free.” “It is always a lie,” says Gilder, “because on this earth nothing, in the end, is free.”

Timing is everything. Gilder’s hopeful predictions – that the tech giants will succumb to the self-destruct code they have unknowingly created, and that one day what he calls the “cryptocosm” will usher in a new era of unfettered Internet freedom where ideological censorship is no more, privacy is restored, and sovereign individuals happily pay a tiny amount for the content they like – may take years to come about.

But for WND to survive, that future has to be now.
