Reality is the big game changer. When reality changes, the game changes. A major collapse can and does change the reality.

You look at the themes of some of the middling popular TV shows now, even over the last several years, a lot of them have themes about group survival, not to mention the reality show Survivor series which was running for a few years (and I think still in syndication). People have archetypes to work with, some idea how it goes even if they are not "preppers", but in most, everyone sees the "Bert Gummer" type as the wierdo they get mighty thankful to have around when SHTF.

I am going to check out that alt-market crowd for a while and see what they are up to since they seem pretty interesting. Hopefully I don't get burned by anyone there because it looks like a situation that was tailor made for a lot of what I have been writing over the last six months.
