That could save some lives!

On a related note, every homestead and especially every group will need some sort of incinerator to safely burn waste. If you are caring for sick or injured, this is an absolute necessity. Here is one example , similar to ones I helped build in Africa.

We didn't bother with the chimney, we just removed both ends of the drum, installed a grate, and set it up on bricks so we could load the waste from the top onto the grate and build the fire underneath. Once we got the hang of it, two of us could build four of these things in eight hours.

It won't last forever, the heat generated will oxidize the metal. But it served our purposes.
