Hypothetical Wednesday January, 4 2017 – What Would You Do?

A mass casualty event has taken place on the East, West, Gulf coasts and nearly the length of the Mississippi River Valley. There is little to do there but salvage. Mankind did not however collapse into mass hysteria as expected with the exception of the largest cities. Local FEMA and LEO have maintained order in general but lack the manpower to impose ‘Control’ over the population. City services are very spotty but the water pressure is low but steady. Only the sense of duty and right have kept some city workers on their jobs to maintain some EM and Fire services and such. Local government has vaporized over the weeks but the sense is that a new and workable ‘Normal’ is returning.

The owner of the local grocery market has cleaned out the store and has allowed an area ‘farmers market’ to fill the space. These have started to grow in number. Old clothes, household goods, baked goods and surplus vegetables and meats, fuels, hardware and all manner of tradable goods. Time barter ‘Services’ are starting to appear for everything from haircuts to plumbing. An area ‘Food and Service’ bank is forming to help those in trouble and to augment the needs of the families of those City workers keeping things running. Several local men and women have formed an ad-hoc ‘City Council’ to help organize your part of the county. They have approached you and asked you to take part.

This IS the situation. This IS the situation you ARE in. Not that ..”you wouldn’t have been..” there. Not that “you wouldn’t have done..” something different to have prevented any known or unknown possibility. YOU ARE THERE. This is your reality .. Now.. what is or are your answer(s)?
