I've done several posts on trapping, and I always urge folks to practice your trapping skills now. Trapping has a very long learning curve, and I fear my advice is falling on deaf ears.

That's why I actually sort of like that "Naked and Afraid" series. Nearly every group of survivalists try to construct traps, with little success. I can remember only one guy who was quite successful - and he was trapping rats, where rats were more than plentiful.

I'm not saying you can't sweeten the stew pot through trapping, because you certainly can. But you better start practicing now. See if you can trap some sparrows and starlings. There isn't a lot of meat on them and they're not the most tasty things in the world, but they're protein. And with some practice, you can get them in fairly impressive numbers. And if you trap them now, you can start eating them now and put the money you save into more supplies.
