The New Madrid is a rift valley. IOWs, it is where tectonic plates are pulling apart, not coming together or scraping alongside one another.

That should be kept in mind while trying to predict what could happen.

I seriously doubt human activity has anything to do with it. You could probably drop a nuke in there and not budge those plates a fraction of an inch. We're talking tremendous amounts of energy.

The events described in Revelation are to a large extent attributable to large meteorites from asteroids and or comets.
If you study what transpires due to such strikes you will see it well laid out there, IMHO.

Now, would THAT move some tectonic plates?
