That's a lot older than the times we're talking about. Not sure how long humans have been in the Americas but it isn't any earlier than 40,000 years for sure.

Just about everywhere was under water at some point in the past and such fossils can be found almost anywhere if you dig deep enough. Just depends on the local geology and erosion.
