The Mullahs run everything in Iran. The new Iranian president may be a "moderate," at least compared to Ahmadinejad, but he really doesn't wield a lot of power. Iran's constitution gives overriding authority to a Shiite clergyman over politics, cultural affairs, domestic affairs, the military, foreign policy, and the economy. And Ayatollah Ali Khamenei isn't going anywhere.

The last I heard, Iran was going to send another 4000 troops to Syria. Hezbollah has already been there for a while.
