That is precisely the sentiment that gave birth to the "Cajun Navy." They just went and did it.
The people that tried to donate food to the evacuees turned and fed the Cajun Navy and other non-sanctioned entities. They didn't let it go to waste. Since the shelters are akin to prisons are far as unauthorized access goes, they couldn't circumvent the Red Cross.
I keep hoping these disasters will wake people up and show them the need to bee prepared and be self reliant, but once again, they have ignored the warnings.
