I am increasingly concerned we are creating our own "digital prison" that will make Darkness at Noon seem like child's play. At least in Arthur Koestler's novel of the Stalinist purge trials the inmates could communicate by tapping on the walls. What do we do?
What do we do?

Exit the matrix.

People complain about corporate and government spying yet they refuse to take the simple steps necessary to eliminate the problem. They refuse to do without all the modern "conveniences and services" that enables this spying. They are willing slaves to their devices.

Just a few short years ago people got along just fine without cable tv, cell phones, social media, the internet, credit cards or online banking. Contrary to what most think, you don't need any of this garbage and can live well without it.

You don't have to live like a caveman. Think old school ...60-80's technology still works.
