Being a free market anarchist, I wouldn't mind seeing it either, though not for the same reason. I used to say it wouldn't work until we got rid of the welfare state first, and I still believe that. But lately I've been thinking maybe the best way to rids ourselves of the welfare state is to have it collapse under its own weight, and maybe open borders would finally bring that about. I worry, though, that what replaces it after the economic collapse would be even worse.

The truth is, we need immigrants. I'd like to see a worker's program, where workers can get a work permit and come across the border for seasonal or other low-paying jobs. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.
