I've been noticing the same thing. When an old crippled guy like me can change a tire in less time than it takes the young kid to figure out how to use the jack, there's a problem somewhere.

I'm not sure if it's a lack of DIY skills, or just a lack of common sense. A while back, I was showing a couple young guys how to create a dirt hole trap set. We got the trap staked, embedded, and covered, and dug the hole. I then asked them where they thought the bait would go. They both said they would put the bait on the trap pan. What did they think they were going to do, catch the critter by the nose?
