Iran has a long history of responding to protesters brutally and bloodily. I suspct they will again, but the protests this time seem a little different from past ones. When the protesters are shouting "Death to Khamenei," it's pretty clear they're not looking for some sort of compromise. I don't think Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is going to return to Iran any time soon, but I've been wrong before.
