If things really go into the crapper,odds are alot of the police are getting thier own families out.The military/guard units will start on the outside of major population centers and work thier way in.concentrating on major thruways such as interstates,then state routes,then county routes.There will be alot of holes in the net for the first 24-48 hours,after that each passing hour makes things more difficult.Odds are you (being smarter than most) will see it coming before it all goes downhill,with anyluck at all ,you'll get a 24 hour head start,be ready to go,and use it.Better to bugout prematurley to a nearby ready point than to get stuck.

For instance,my ready point is due south of the PHX metro area,with enough supplies for our entire team and dependents for at least 5 days,before we even have to try.This will give us ample time to evaluate the situation,allow for straglers and such to get out and in contact,ect.

If you can't go straight to high ground,have at least one jump off/rally point.Defendable and no more than 1 hour drive away.You can proceed as needed from there,and if it's a false alarm,you got in a family outing.
